Legent Orthopedic + Spine Hospital San Antonio

I just had my knee replacement surgery April 2nd 2024 by Dr Christopher Phelps. He is phenomenal it took him all of 40 minutes to do the surgery. His method is less invasive than the typical knee replacement surgery which cuts the muscle and tendons around the knee. Dr Phelps Doesnt cut any muscle or tendon. He works around the muscle & tendons. I was able to walk approx 4 hours after the surgery I had almost no pain whatsoever. I did my exercises (although I did overwork them, its my over achiever personality) this morning Dr Weikle took care of me and my pain . He is Professional, Extremely Intelligent and has a great bedside manner . He listened to me and answering all my questions, he ordering an ultrasound to make sure I didnt have any blood clots due to all the pain he too is Phenomenal. It turns out I didnt have clots, I was over zealous the day of the surgery and over worked my leg ! Dr Weikle ordered medication so Ill be comfortable at home . Ill be dismissed at the end of the day. I did wanna say that the entire staff from the Doctors, to the nurses, the physical therapist, & the kitchen they were all phenomenal, professional & patient. They are experienced and know their stuff well. Ive been to other hospitals where staff pretends to be busy while you hear their conversations & laughter and they tell you they are too busy . I think those other hospital are too busy to care period! This hospital is THE BEST EVER ! I absolutely recommend this hospital; and as a retired teacher I give all of them A+++ and 100 Gold Stars . Kudos to all of them !

We had such an excellent experience here in December, 2023, when my husband had a knee replacement. He was there for one night/two days, and I spent the night there, too. Absolutely everyone we came into contact with was pleasant, efficient and just wonderful! We couldnt have asked for a better experience during a sort of scary and painful procedure. My husband was very well taken care of and this all set the stage for a very good recovery. If either of us ever needed another joint replacement we would make every effort to do it here.

I have to say that my Docs were amazing but the Neurosurgeons office did not do their job in the insurance dept like they should have. I eventually took it upon myself to contact Legent and spoke with Kim Brown. Between her and Laura they got the approval done. They literally worked magic. Because of them my life has changed!!! They literally made it possible for my life to be saved! I didnt need the surgery to save my life, but to let me live again. Thanks to them, I literally see the grass greener and the sun is brighter! They went above and beyond! They saved my life, my marriage, and my relationships with my children. Amen!!! Im eternally grateful to Kim and Laura and anyone else who made phone calls to make this work!! I love you!

Everything was perfect I had surgery in October 2023, and My husband had surgery in February 2023. Service was great. Except as far as the billing department there is no answer have left messages not even the Manager will return my call. I am pending an refund from my stay. Now the rest of the providers I need to pay are sending me to collections since I have not gotten the refund to pay them. That really sucks for them to have such a billing department that does not even answer the phones.

After a complete hip replacement from Dr. Phelps, which was an amazing event and a complete success. I was attended to by the nurses and staff which were incredible. Zachary, the cook was an amazing man. Unfortunately the two star rating comes because of Dr. Winkel this person should not be allowed to practice in any facility , As his attention to patience does not exist. With total disregard to myself, and more so to my wife, and the fact that we had a lengthy drive back to our home approximately six hours. It was more important to him to eat his sandwich as compared to assisting us in leaving legent to get home in a timely manner. Wanting nothing more than just a verbal apology, I was told that he doesnt do that, being humble is incredibly important to me. I think its fair to ask to be treated the same way i would treat someone else, as compared to being nothing more than a dollar bill in somebodys pocket. To reiterate, the Hospital staff nurses were amazing. If you have to be attended to by Dr. Winkel, then I would suggest finding another facility.
