Omni La Mansión del Rio

Thr room had no towels, no bottle opener. Given thr big busy expose weekend, why did they only have 1 bartender working. The entire hotel seemed to be working at a rate of low efficiency.

I have been to several Omni hotels. This was by far my worst experience. Let me start with the good. The location is awesome. Right next to Riverwalk. Plenty of food nearby within walking distance among other things. My room was very clean and tidy and accommodations were what I expected. My check-in process was an absolute nightmare. There were two people working the desk and only one person in front of me before I checked in. It took almost 15 minutes for them to finish with that guest. The gentleman helping us took over 10 minutes to find our reservations in the system. Once we got our rooms I headed up. I got to my room and had only received one key and it did not give me access. I couldn't get in. I had to go with my luggage back down to the lobby to get a new key. He gave me two this time in case one didn't work. When I entered the room it was occupied by somebody else. Thankfully they weren't there at the time, but all of their belongings were in the room. Went back to the lobby again And waited another 15 minutes for them to finish helping one other customer. They weren't very apologetic about their mistake and just assigned me to another room. Got to that room and guess what. My key didn't work. I did eventually get a room but what a nightmare of a check in process.

I just spoke with Maggie from the front desk and had the best customer service ever and I work for a hotel in Dallas. She was able to handle my needs and answer my questions. Keep up the good work Maggie, I will see you and your team next Friday.

This is a beautiful, historic hotel. The location is excellent and we enjoyed overlooking the riverwalk. The Omnis entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our room smelted musty. Each time we walked in my little boy said what is that awful smell. So therefore we checked out and went to the Westin Riverwalk which was a little bit nicer but not as convenient. I really enjoyed the hotel and its location but the room smell was annoying. Rooms: Our room was nice but it smelled very musty. Ive noticed that vintage hotels sometimes smell musty.
