San Antonio Fire Department Station #45

Im sorry but I Fail to understand how this fire company is holding a 3.0 on Google reviews !!! These guys showed up at my house and took the kind of care that makes me proud to be an American !! They and their EMS counterparts were courteous, concerned, helpful, conscientious, dutiful, and each one a credit to their profession. I cannot help, but the struggle to figure out how the very nature of their existence as the first responders, who arrive when you are in your most desperate moment, could ever encounter anything besides the type of gratitude worth outstandingly more than 3 effin stars !! Lets do better people!!!

Im currently in the emergency room with my father who is 75 years old. I am also a CCRN and emergency room RN who usually works well and closely with 1st responders. It is 0400. My mother called me at 0200 telling me he was coughing and had to sit on the floor so she called EMS. Medic 45 arrived while i was on the phone with her. My father was aox3 with slight confusion and one of the EMTs asked my mother what his allergies were. I was on speaker and my mother replied lipitor but couldnt remember the others due to worry and she is 70 but stated His allergies were in the computer at Christus Westover hills which is where he was goin. The EMT replied to my elderly mother well this isn't westover hills which i heard. My mother proceeded to apologized which i stopped her. I told her that was not appropriate behavior and to stop apologizing. I asked for the EMS number to which the EMT took her phone and proceeded to argue with me and handed the phone to my mother after i told him his behavior was unacceptable. He did not give me the ambulance number or his name. This EMT was not providing direct care to my father only entering information into the computer.

Don't expect to be treated kindly. They have horrible beside manner in an inability to just simply take care of patients. They'd rather discuss a bill then transport someone.
