This review is more for the food truck. They were located at Rolling Oaks Mall for an event and we usually enjoy Hawaiian food. This was around lunch time to set a time frame. The food truck itself stood out to us and the decor was nice as well. We weren't fond of the prices, especially with the portion sizes that was given to us. However, since we were at the event and don't do this often, we said why not. Let's spoil ourselves.. We decided to try three different options. The food was served in Chinese takeaway boxes(the kalbi takeout box had a gap of empty space at the bottom where rice probably should've been, we also did not like the fortune cookie sitting on top of our food which is potentially part of the issue). While the food tasted good at the moment, for the most part, that evening and the day or two after were not pleasant.. anyone that ate the food from that truck, got sick. We were either hugging the toilet or on it. Not sure if the food were poorly and improperly handled, the fortune cookie and cross-contamination or whatever the case is but never again. This is one Hawaiian restaurant checked off our list. Again, this is for the food truck and not the brick and mortar location but it is still the same kitchen. We didn't eat much that day so it was easier to determine what was the cause..

We just moved from Hawaii to Texas and I wanted to taste a piece of home. Very authentic good food. Made us feel like Ohana. Didnt have bathrooms available for customers. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs available and gave us kids utensils.

I was looking up this restaurants hours and reviews, and saw a review about its food truck that was at the Festival in Rolling Oaks Mall. I was also at that Event, and I completely disagree. Of all the food there, this was my favorite. My family and I ate there on both days of the Lunar New Year Festival. Not 1 of the 5 of us got sick. Nor did any of our friends, who also attended the event, and ate at this food truck. We were at that festival from the opening ceremonies to the close on the first day, and left around 3pm the second day because superbowl. All of the people we saw ordering before us looked fine too. Turns out that the stylish kids ahead of us were k-pop performers we saw dancing inside the mall at one of the stages around an hour later. Anyway, the staff was very welcoming, kind, and informative. Because of my husband's food allergies and my dietary restrictions, we asked them alot of questions about their food and ingredients, and asked for recommendations. They kindly told us everything. All of their food came with a scoop of rice. It was just the right amount of food, and the box it came in made it easy to walk around with since there were no tables to sit and eat at during the festival. Everthing tasted fresh and was delicious. The poke was a bit spicy, but the flavor was bold and unique compared to other poke I've had. I also bought their juices which complemented the food perfectly. They even gave my kids extra cookies for "good luck" while we waited. We ate at all of the amazing food trucks there. Literally ate every single thing (we're foodies). Every food truck there had similar prices. It's about the same price range, if not cheaper, than what I see at Fiesta events. We came to this festival specifically for speciality exotic foods, and we got it cheaper than we expected. They did tell me they have a restaurant (a scratch kitchen), and other food on their normal menu. If their festival menu is that delicious, I can only imagine their full plates. I personally can't wait to go there. I do recommend giving this truck a try if you see them at an event. But if you perhaps have food allergies, or a sensitive stomach, just ask what's in the food. These people were very open and honest. They had no problem answering all of our questions, and showed genuine concern and care in selecting what was best for whom. They even gave us samples before we even made the solid decision to eat there. They made it very easy for us compared to most other places who make it uncomfortable. I am very thankful for that experience. I am grateful for delicious authentic hawaiian food. I can honestly say not one of my family and friends at that event got sick after eating their food multiple times on both days. If "everyone " who ate there got sick, I'm sure they would have gotten shut down or kicked out by the mall. Just saying. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free Friendly Keto Friendly Nut & Fruit Allergy Friendly Kid-friendliness: They let our kids sample the entrees with us, treated them with patience and kindness, made them laugh with chicken and fish jokes, and made them extra happy with extra cookies. It was nice to be able to give my kids juice instead of soda, and it was even nicer that they loved it.
