The customer service was great. The place was just dirty and in need of a lot of maintenance. Very run down.

I liked the hotel, it was nice, rooms need to be updated a bit but other than that it was a nice stay.

We have stayed at quite a few IHG properties for many years, including at Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Candlewood Suites, Crowne Plaza, and Staybridge Suites. The hotel quality can vary, but Staybridge is supposed to be on the nicer side. Not at this location. We recently stayed at this Staybridge on vacation in 2 suites for 2 nights while visiting the big 4 Texas cities. Overall, the property was dated (the wallpaper near the elevator was held together with what appeared to be packing tape), and the rooms had water damage from poor quality materials used near the bathroom. The 1st floor room was okay despite the poor materials used near the bathroom. However, the 4th floor room was not air conditioned, highs reached 80 degrees while we were in town, and we had to open the windows at night (and hear the freeway traffic and smell someone on premises smoking weed outside from down below -- we looked outside the window and saw who it was). The air conditioning was not repaired during our entire stay despite promises from the staff to get it fixed and/or move us to a different room (they were sold out and there were no other rooms available). Also, we saw the breakfast staff get into a verbal fight with a customer for closing down the breakfast 15 minutes early, as he advised that he would get in trouble with management for staying open too late. Although we received a $200 credit for the non-air conditioned room and the front desk attendant who checked us out was nice and apologetic, the experience was totally unacceptable. Staybridge is usually a step up from other IHG properties, and the other properties that we stayed at before and after this hotel were in much better shape than this property. We will not stay at this location again.
