6 months after we moved into a house built by a home builder in Rockport TX, we found evidence of black mold in numerous places. we called the builder back in , he investigated, yes, mold behind cabinets,etc.I told him we wanted to bring in a mold remediation company to remove all building materials affect. I stood in our kitchen with him when he simply said Youre on your ownWHAT?! what builder would do that?So, we went about, on our own, having the house tested for black mold, and went about bringing in a company to remove it all. we had to rebuild a fair amount of the interior, and we asked help from Richard Dias Construction. He set about finding out what caused the problem and we hired him to fix it all We wanted our new house back. he replaced the a/c system, as specified by the testing, and repaired all the damage insid. he didnt complainI didnt cause this but he fixed the ptoblem for us.Not free, of course. he paid attention every detail along the way and we are now living in a mold free house! what a GUY , Very good to work with and conscientious!I was not around for all that, due to a serious head injury, so he worked closely with my wife and father in law!Were thrilled with what Richard did for us and , especially, how he did it. weve not sought compensation from the original builder at the point. that remains to be resolved.Its complicated. ironic thing is, Richard Dias is a neighbor and, prior to us selecting ta contractor he asked if we were interned in a ptoposal from him. having a neighbor as the guy that built our house. . . .I couldnt get comfortable with that. so we selected the other guy. wHAT a mistake! Richard hasnt said You shouve chosem me or anything like that. thats how good a guy he is! I would LOVE to give out the name of the guy that built the house, and the darned A/C companybut that could lead to problems.possible liability, if you can believe that!I just hope Karma will take care of things.Anway, Id recommend Mr.Dias for any project
