I have been a patient here for nearly a week now. I find the staff lovely to deal with, almost everyone here has a great positive attitude, a requirement for caregivers I think. The facility is a little worse around the edges in its aging progress but it doesnt necessarily mean that the care here isnt top level. In particular I would like to call out LaShaun Franklin for her extremely positive attitude. I find she is always upbeat and always ready to go the extra mile for her patients. Her ever present smile and happy demeanor make for a great interaction. She is very dedicated to her job and a pleasure to be around. Thank you, LaShuan, for the level of care you provide.

I gave this facility one star, but only because I had to give something to get in to write this review. I am very disappointed with this facility. Actually, I was very angry. We placed our 35-year-old son here to get rehab. Before we decided to place him here, we were promised that they would have all the necessities he would need to be there. A nebulizer, a suction machine, and other items he needed to help him. They assured us that one of us could stay with him through his stay. I got to stay the first night only after a CNA finally got permission for me after asking several people if I was going to be able to stay. That night, I heard an elderly lady across the room crying for help over and over for around 30 minutes. I had to go out in the hall way to get help for my son, but before she came into the room, I sent her to the lady's room. She brushed it off and told me, "Oh, she's new; she's just scared.". Nothing was done to comfort her or help her. In the wee hours of the next morning, an ambulance shows up. I found out that a patient died through the night and wasn't reported or charted" until the morning shift came in. Two of the staff employees came into my son's room to gossip about the night shift, asking one of them not to say anything about what happened, and that she called 911. They didn't even realize I was in the room. That morning I called for help so my son could get taken care of and changed at 8:45 am. This CNA didn't come in to attend to him until noon. That's when I found out about the man who died because the CNA was speaking about it over my son. I saw and heard many other things in one day and night that left me questioning this facility. That afternoon, the director came and told me that I could not stay with my son. I pleaded, begged, and cried for them to let me stay. I told him that my son could not be left alone. The answer was still no. I told him I did not want to come in and find my son like the man they found that morning. I also told him that my son didn't have the necessities he needed and was promised. They got some of the things he needed that afternoon. However, I was still not allowed to stay. The next day I got there early; my son was burning with fever, and I called for help several times for them to come and attend to him. The PT ladies were awesome, but two of the CNAs and nurses were not helpful at all. Only 1 nurse seemed to want to help with his care. We stayed with my son until 8:30 p.m. that evening. We had to ask them to come in and change and care for him before we left. We were very concerned about the care he wasn't receiving. We left my son alone in their care. We went home, and we discussed getting him out of this facility in the morning. My daughter-in-law and I talked until 12:56 a.m. when I decided to call and check on my son. Only to be told they were calling 911. I didn't ever give them my name or my son's name, and I'm given this information. We get to the facility at around 115 a.m. on Saturday, and my son is in the ambulance heading to the ER. My son was not revived. He died that morning. The following week on Saturday I get a call asking how was my son's stay....really?? I would not recommend this place unless you don't care for your loved one. It's sad how this facility is being run. AND to find out they are opening another facility. It has taken me a while before I decided to write this review in the hope that I would help someone else make a wise decision, because we didn't. We chose the wrong place to place my one and only son. These people will promise you everything to get you to bring in your loved ones. Be very careful if it sounds too good to be true; it just may very well not be true at all.
