Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Gave us an unsafe vehicle! There was a piece of plastic hanging from under the front of the car. We asked for a different car & they said they did not have any. We asked them to remove the plastic, they said they weren't unable to do so despite being located at a car dealership with a service dept. They told us we could take the car to NTB to have the plastic removed-not our responsibility. We asked how soon we could get a different car? The agent said to call on Thursday (we rented on Monday). They never answered the phone! After 3 calls in 3 hours where I sat on endless hold for over 20 minutes each and then was disconnected, I contacted Enterprise's 800 number. They advised that the would add notes to our case, to call us immediately, but to keep trying. After another 90 minutes with no results, I called the 800 number again & spoke to Latesse who was helpful & gave me a number for another Enterprise nearby & she showed they had a car available. It took 2 calls to that Enterprise only to be told they did not have any cars. On Tuesday we started getting a 'low battery' warning for the key fob. We were also trying to get that issue taken care of so we were not stuck somewhere. No one was able to help us! On Thursday after realizing we just weren't going to get a different/safe car, we still had to deal with the key fob issue. We took it to yet another Enterprise where the agent spent 1/2 hour changing out the batteries between 2 key fobs she had in the drawer and ours. The first 2 were completely dead so we ended up with the original battery we had and the advice to "take it to O'Reilly's Auto Parts & save the receipt"!!! That's 2 different rental places telling us to service their vehicles ourselves! That seems to be the "Enterprise Way' in the Houston area. I had a car reserved in July for a trip to the area but will be cancelling that & going with a different company. Their demonstration of indifference has made me a former Enterprise Customer.
