Wingate by Wyndham Richardson/Dallas

Rooms were clean and well-furnished, but hall wallpaper was peeling, ice maker on 2nd floor was broken, hallway smelled strongly of marijuana, breakfast was barely edible, with reconstituted powdered eggs and what appeared to be plant-based sausage, they did have a waffle maker, but a bit of a wait to use it, as it was really the only thing good there. Price reasonable, accommodations passable. Solid C+ Rooms: Clean and well-furnished. Solid B Food & drinks: Waffle maker is best breakfast option, eggs were reconstituted powdered, dry and crumbly, sausage appeared to be plant-based, other offerings were spare. C-

This hotel is super dated. Walking into the building there is a weird smell. Upon check in I was told that there would be a deposit. I feel like this is something that should have been disclosed prior to check in. It looked like there could've possibly been repairs going on. There was loose furniture all around the parking lot. The walls are paper thin. Trash was throughout the halls. The latch on the top of my door for added security was broken. My restroom toilet had low pressure. There was one extremely small bar of soap provided. No other toiletries. The foot traffic around the building seemed sketchy. Customer service was poor. On day two my room key would not work. I went to the front desk. No warm greeting. Just eye contact as if I should be there first to speak. I didn't even want to try breakfast due to the uncleanliness of the building . Overall, the cost of the stay was not appropriate. The only plus is that the location has easy access to the highway.
