I have been to Tropical Health Care several times. All were good experiences and have recommended to friends. Everyone was professional and helpful. Recently I had issues with getting an MRI at North Brownsville Imaging. Corel (sp?) went above and beyond to straighten things out with the insurance company. Thanks for being such a big help!

I was very pleased with the quickness in getting an appointment. The staff was very friendly and professional, especially Correll. Upon check in I advised the nurse my primary purpose of my visit was to get my BP meds refilled. I have been out on an RV trip for several weeks when my BP started escalating with typical symptoms. I was taken off my bp meds last fall so my PC would not refill without seeing me and having bloodwork done: I went an Urgent Care and received my meds. The prescription was only for 30 days. When I ran out again I was in South Padre and made an appointment to get bp meds refilled. i saw Gail who recommended I add hydrochlorothiazide to my bp meds, I agreed. I was not given any paperwork to show what was said or what meds were ordered. I get a notification from Walgreen's my prescription is ready but only for the Hydrochlorothiazide. I immediately call back to Tropical, explain my issue and they said Gail would call it in. After waiting several months hours and no notification regarding the prescription I called Tropical again, and again was told ot would be taken care of. I went to pick up my prescriptions and only the hydrochlorothiazide was there and they had no prescription for the bp meds. I called Tropic al as soon as they opened and spoke with Correll about my issue. He was fantastic about trying to resolve my issue. However, he was told that they could only dill the prescription if I came back in for bloodwork. We departed South Padre about three hours earlier so I wasn't going back for bloodwork and hey should have taken during my appointment the precaution day, if deemed necessary. I told Correll I had a copy of my bloodwork taken February 7 and sent him a copy to see if it would suffice since everything was normal. The answer from Gail was NO. So now after going to two Urgent Care visits in a month, I now need to go to another one. This could have been resolved from the start had I been given something in writing that summarized my visit and what was being done! This facility needs to review their check out procedures to keep someone else from the frustrating events I've encountered and hat have most definitely effected my BP for which I have NO meds. Sorry this is so long, but I felt this t necessary to ensure Tropical Health understands why Im so frustrated! UPDATE: After posting my review, I received a notification that my prescription was being filled and Walgreen's. Im not sure who made this decision but I sincerely appreciate the he change. I have to think Correll was behind it and I cant say enough about his politeness and professional demeanor while conversing with me regarding my issue. I would highly recommend Tropical Health to anyone in need of their services s.

My 1st visit with Dr Gail was in Spring of 2023. She quickly diagnosed my respiratory problem I'd been struggling with for weeks. In less than 24 hours I felt better than I had for the previous 30 days. She has my complete trust and is my first choice in the Port Isabel/South Padre Island area. The whole experience was exceptional.

Best urgent care option in south padre. I hope all urgent cares could be like this one. Best I have been in the US. My experience was just beyond expectation. Since you walk on the door you are greeted by the most kind staff. I was seen in less than 5 minutes since I entered and by a wonderful and caring nurse. The doctor took no time in arriving and took the time to explain my treatment etc.
