There isn't a high enough recommendation for Dr. Kerner. She repaired a bad cut on my hand in her office, saving me thousands of dollars from an emergency room visit. It healed perfectly. She also removed a large skin cancer from my nose, and the scar is invisible. She also performed upper blepharoplasty (eyelid) surgery for me, and the results are great. She is an exceptional surgeon, and I am very happy with my results and the care I received from her.

I just had a procedure done by Dr Kerner. She was recommended to me by Baylor Surgical Center after I asked for the best doctor. Dr. Kerner was so great at explaining the procedure step by step. She makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet her. Her office is very nicely decorated and her staff was very professional and informative. I highly recommend her for any of your upcoming needs. In fact, I have already passed her information to a friend.

Dr Kerner is excellent, because she helps you to look great, not just younger. She works hard to be successful at making "you look like you" ; just a little fresher and better, which means you look younger. I now recognize the person in the mirror and that is wonderful. She also has a professional, helpful and caring staff.

The front desk staff is incompetent and Karen (Jennifer) went beyond her job duties which negatively impacted my wifes time line of receiving documents. They also sent her medical records to the wrong email which is a major HIPAA violation and has since been reported to the HHS privacy division. The office then responded to my wifes review as if she lied and made it seem as if her handwriting was not legible when they could have called and asked her to verify instead of violating her privacy. From my understanding the doctor does great work and was pleasant however Karen should be fired until shes capable of doing her job and minding her business. Transcarent is an added benefit to our health insurance and has been around for years. When we called to schedule the consultation, the phone was on speaker, and we were informed that the fee was $50. It was apparent that there was a misunderstanding, as it seemed like they were trying to imply that we couldn't hear properly. Given that there are several surgeons in the DFW area who offer consultations for fees ranging from $0 to $50, this did not strike us as unusual. The individual who responded to the review exhibited a disrespectful attitude and attempted to explain the rise in consultation fees since the 1980s. However, they failed to verify the accuracy of the information before responding.

When I made my appointment last year I was advised there was be a $50 consult fee however after my appointment they told me $150. So immediately they lied. A complete rip-off and not worth it. The doctor wasnt even that friendly or welcoming and she presented uncomfortable vibes. So no I wouldnt dare get surgery done here and would rather go elsewhere. Other than the lying about the consult fee my biggest issue is below. On March 15 and again on March 21, I made requests for my medical records. My interaction with Jennifer Castro regarding this matter was unsatisfactory. Transcarent, a company utilized by my employer, sought access to my medical records, prompting Jennifer to inquire whether I had granted permission for them to receive the records. Despite confirming my consent, Jennifer expressed her belief that it was unethical for Transcarent to make such requests, citing negative reviews of the company. Despite my insistence, Jennifer refused to release the records to Transcarent, insisting that they could only be sent to me. She requested a signed letter matching the signature on file before releasing them. After waiting for days without receiving the records, I followed up with Jennifer, only to discover that she had sent them to the wrong email address, displaying incompetence on her part. Additionally, her unprofessionalism, including criticism of my choice of surgeon and the quality of her company's services, was unwarranted. Despite her tenure, Jennifer's rude behavior warrants attention and resolution.

Ms Russell, our consultation fees have been $125 for the last ten years, and the $125 minimum is publicly noted on our web site. We have not quoted a $50 consult ever as that is far below the industry rates for a 45-60 minute consultation and has been since the 1980s. You were charged $125, not $150. You paid $125 with your Mastercard. As for Transcarent, we have contacted the Texas Board of Insurance, the Texas Medical Association, and legal counsel regarding their tactics. Transcarent requested medical records so they could determine if another surgeon could render services to you, presumably for a lower rate, thereby taking business away from the doctor and superseding patient choice. In Dr Kerner’s 37 years of practice, she has never had such a request wherein an entity requests her records (her work product) to help them potentially take business away from her. All parties we’ve contacted and heard back from agree that practice appears unethical. Transcarent’s request for medical records did not have your actual signature, only your name typed out by computer. We requested you send your own written document, which we made easy for you to submit by accepting a photo of your handwritten request sent via email. We needed to validate your signature matched what was in our records from your visit. As Jennifer promised, your records were immediately emailed to you upon receipt of your written request. Seven days went by before you contacted us because you had not received anything. As mentioned to you on the phone, your handwritten 1s in your email address in your new patient paperwork looked to all our staff to be 7s, and that’s how it was entered into the computer. Again, immediately upon discovery of a clerical error of another employee’s misreading your handwriting - certainly not incompetence - Jennifer sent your records to you to do with as you wish.It should be noted that on March 15 after Jennifer discussed Transcarent’s tactics with you, you requested a cash estimate for surgery in case your insurance company said it would not be a covered benefit. You told Jennifer you really liked Dr. Kerner and wanted her to perform your surgery. Jennifer did not criticize your choice of surgeon in any way, only that Transcarent’s tactics seemed to be aligned to potentially interfere with your choice of surgeon. Our practice has always been to encourage patients to seek multiple opinions from other surgeons if they wish so they can be well informed on various surgical techniques, etc. We are sorry you are dissatisfied with our desire to verify you were in fact consenting to release of your records to an entity with which we have no relationship, who is not your insurance company, and who only provided a typewritten version of your signature.
