My wife and I went in for a trial class because we were looking for a good dojo to continue her training from childhood. I can summarize our experience in 2 words: No Control One of the instructors paired my wife up with a white belt, who immediately started blasting away when my wife (much smaller than him) was holding the bag. Common sense and good dojo etiquette would say to not hit as hard when paired up with a lady: be a gentleman. The instructors said nothing. Also I've seen the way you guys do kumite. Even the brown belts don't seem to be pulling their punches or kicks. Not a smart way to spar every week. I will save my wife from brain injuries by looking for another dojo... EDIT: In response to your comment, My wife and I attended your dojo (not another place) on 3/27/24, 7pm. Furthermore, I am an active person and have all rights as a customer to leave reviews (good or bad) to places I visit to inform other potential customers of a business. That's how capitalism works. Take responsibility.

My son started coming three weeks ago and this has been very good for him, he wasnt the sport type of kid and we wanted him to do something that he would enjoy and he took a liking to karate. The instructor, Sensei Scott welcomed him in and he felt very comfortable after us visiting so many other Dojos. All of the instructors seem very grounded and knowledgeable, so as a parent it makes me very happy he chose this location. Hope we are here for a while and that he continues to move up.

I am a student here at The Academy of Classical Karate and they are very thorough and precise with telling you how to do certain moves. The Senseis are very kind and understanding, and they always know what to do when you are confused with a move. I highly suggest coming here if you want to learn Karate.

Hi Mr. Lai - I'm sorry to read your review. We do not show you in our system as ever attending a trial class at our dojo. I'm sorry where ever you went was a negative experience. We agree with you, all students should have good control and manners. We believe respect for our partner is paramount to good training. We take your review seriously and have reached out to our instructors for follow-up. Please note, we have a very low injury rate, while maintaining a high retention rate among our adult students. We take safety while training seriously.I see from your review history you do seem to enjoy trying different martial arts schools and leaving reviews. Seems like an interesting hobby. I hope you find what you and your wife are looking for,
