The CPA and his staff are exceptional. They are professional in what they do and they are knowledgeable in their industry. They care about their customers and it shows. It is true, "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care."

Communication is subpar. I felt as if I was begging for a response. Maybe they have too many clients. I don't know. Maybe my business and personal needs were beneath them. I don't know. I sent them personal and business information to help with our taxes in April (already late). They advised us the bookkeeping and tax filings would be finished at the end of May. It's now the end of June and no reply from them. My last email to them was sent last Friday. Originally they stated they had email problems (in April) where for almost 2 weeks no emails for their company were coming through to them. This should have been a red flag.Unfortunately, I don't recommend this company. A previous reviewer mentioned the attitude of one employee. I experienced the same.

My husband and I use Altland and Harris for our personal and small-business taxes. Most our communication is over the phone and email, but i go visit in person on occasion to sign documents and review the big picture. I've found their small team to be very friendly and capable. We aren't always the best at getting our paperwork turned over to them in a timely manner, but they have always been very patient and accommodating with us. And the few times we've gotten letters from the IRS, I'm relieved to have them on my team as it's taken care of without much hassle. We were briefly with a different CPA, but weren't very pleased there. Then we met Mr Harris through the SBDC in Plano, where he was volunteering his time to council new small businesses on tax issues. Liked him much more. Plus, to me, it says a lot about their character to volunteer in the community.
