Kiddie Academy of New Braunfels

I waited a year to write this hoping that time would make me less angry about the way things went down but alas even after having real doctors validate what I tried to tell the staff at Kiddie Academy I still feel nothing but anger for how they chose to handle my sons behavioral issues. They started with potty training and as soon as he began acting out every teacher asked "WHAT DID YOU CHANGE AT HOME???" Like it was my fault. Every. Single. Teacher. Including the director and assistant director refused to engage with me in a conversation about sensory processing or ASD level 1 which is what I knew was the likely cause (and have been proven correct on now, thank you). Once we made it through potty training I thought it would be okay but he started having trouble with schedule transitions and again no one would engage with me on it possibly being ASD which I knew runs in the family (because I have it too). I spent a week being called to pick up my 3 year old child less than 4 hours after dropping him off because no one at this school is actually trained in how to redirect even slightly neurodivergent kids and when I tried to engage with them I was blown off like they didn't believe my story. Luckily a month before he began really acting out I had already referred him to the school district for evaluation. As soon as I said this to KA though they were sure to tell me that the public school system would NOT help my kid because he is "TOO SMART" yet again making me feel crazy and not engaging with me on the issues they kept also blaming me for with my kid. Well I'm glad to report that KA was wrong and my son is now not only diagnosed with all the issues I tried to tell them were likely there, but he's also FLOURISHING with other kids in the ECSE program nearby.. I will never drive by KA and not feel just utter disappointment for how everything played out and how my son and I were treated just because he didn't fit the "easy to herd" mold that KA seemed to desperately want.

Do not recommend this school. Our LO was left in dirty diapers, causing rashes and handled aggressively.

Kiddie Academy makes me feel comfortable dropping my baby off. The finger print scanner at the front door gives me a sense of security, the cameras in all the rooms give me comfort when I miss my baby, if Im worried about my babys stuffy nose I can just ask the owner, who is a doctor, about it instead of taking my baby to an unnecessary doctors visit. The teachers give me daily updates so I know what my baby has done all day. They teach my baby Spanish and sign language, how to use a cup, and there is a chef so my baby gets to explore all types of food. They celebrate things that my older children do at their school like pajama day! How cute is that?! Ive called them just because I was being a helicopter mom, and they sent me a picture of my baby happily enjoying his lunch! Kiddie Academy is amazing!
