        Moved here from the Austin area. Nederland is substandard. Old and dingy. Shocked at $30 fee annually for the library. I live out of city and count. We dont have access to a library. Poor people pay taxes and cant afford the "PUBLIC" library.

        Do you enjoy living in an unrealistically strick HOA?? Even when you Didn't move into an HOA? Do you like being Targeted & Harassed, Falsely Charged and brought to Court by the City you live in?? Do you like neighbors who are loud, trashy and give you no peace or privacy - yet act like they are better than you?? Do you appreciate breathing air that is loaded with odorless carcinogenic chemicals?? Then Nederland Texas is the town for you!! (Seriously though, don't move there.)

        They make poor people pay extra deposits, When they lie and say that your service is disconnected, when it's not, along with the highest tax for a city in the area it seems to me like their targeting poor people.

        Hubby and I just moved here from Rio Hondo 2 weeks ago..I'm loving the small town feel and the HEB in Nederland/Port Arthur is just awesome..everything is close people seem quite nice and helpful..I hope this will become a real home for us..
