Big and spacious room with a kitchenette. They even allow your fur baby for an extra fee..

The room was very spacious modern equipment.
However, the bed mattress needs replaced because its very uncomfortable and gives a bad back.
The carpet is wavy in some places of the room.
The bathroom is very clean.
The outside signs are very old and very faded and on one side to side was completely missing.
This hotel is over priced at $145 a night.

I don't typically review anything especially hotels but this one definitely is deserving of one!
Where to begin..... well let me start off by saying that I travel A LOT for both leisure and business. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their attitude when dealing with the public as we never know what's going on in their lives nor how their day has been or how the guest before me treated them etc etc... now with that said there are certain things that one in the hospitality industry and one who works for certain brands should adhere, as a loyal Marriott guest and loyalty program member there are certain things that are said and offered upon check-in, none of which were done here which didn't bother me but was noted. Then there was the issue of me asking for a late checkout, which I'm allowed due to my status with the Bonvoy program. I requested a 4pm checkout and was told the manager doesn't like giving late checkouts but she then saw my status and obliged. The luggage carts had flat tires and when brought to the FDA's attention she laughed and said the manager had known about it but like many other things at/on the property, didn't care to fix.
The pictures and canvas prints/wraps are the same EVERYWHERE, they must have gone to hobby lobby, world market or Bed Bath and Beyond and bought out the entire inventory, quite comical to be honest.
Then there's the issue of the laundry facilities... multiple washers and dryers didn't work and the one of two dryers that did was so loud and took 4 cycles to dry (at $3.50/cycle that's ridiculous) I called the phone number on the sign in the laundry room as instructed by the front desk as she stated they're not the property's machines and was told I'd get a call back regarding one machine not registering my payment although it took the money from my account and also regarding the machines condition and others being out of service and never received a call.
Now on to the night auditor, when asked for a replacement key because I left mine in my room with my wallet she stated I needed to show her my ID to confirm I was who I stated, which I understand and can appreciate, but when my identification is in the room with 2 sleeping children and their mother and I can answer or verify any and all queries regarding my identity and account you'd think you'd make an exception, not this woman, very rude and inconsiderate.
Let's move passed all these wonderful instances and go to the next morning... starting at 8 am (though it might have been 9am given the time zone change) the knocking begins with housekeeping. After multiple attempts to enter the room after responding and acknowledging her knocking and getting out of bed to open the door and multiple times informing them that I have a late checkout, reiterating 4pm, then her acting as if she doesn't understand English, she kept knocking waking my children, their mom and myself until 330pm when she posted up outside the room and knocked every 5 minutes until I eventually lost my temper and then went to get a luggage cart and leave the property shortly after 4pm.
If this was my first experience with Marriott, I'd never return to another Marriott property. Traveling as much as I do and experiencing the differences from property to property, understanding that not everyone should be working in the industry that they are and knowing people have bad days or have things going on in their lives that we don't know or about or see, I truly try to give then the benefit of the doubt as I stated earlier but when there is this much consistency in such a negative way I can't help but wonder if it is just the management at this location and their lack of knowledge, experience, commitment or just caring and humanity that creates such a horrible environment.
All things considered, I'd have to say that this hotel isn't the worth giving your business to and I'd recommend any other Marriott property anywhere else than this TownePlace in Midland, Texas.
