I assume most people go to college to find a good job. If so, then you would expect the place that offers the training is going to train and prepare you for said job. It's not exactly like that at Collin College. I speak for the IT department mostly, which is at the Frisco campus. This campus however, has done a decent job when it came to general education classes i.e. Math, English, History. It helps that the campus offers tutoring at explicitly designated locations. There is no tutoring for IT classes. Some of the electives were "free credits" but if you are serious about your education, it is possible to actually learn something from these classes if you do your work and engage the instructors. Now, for the IT classes...you might as well teach yourself. This is essentially what you're doing anyway at Collin College, ESPECIALLY if your classes are 100% online. My experience has been that a professor assigns a textbook and has it do all of the teaching, which might make you ask "then why do I need a class or professor to learn this?" If you choose to do an IT program at Collin College, I highly recommend learning as much as you can about the subject BEFORE taking a class. You will be doing that anyway during the class except you wont be rushed and you're not risking losing out on any tuition money. Overall, I would recommend Collin College as a stepping stone to a university BUT be prepared to fly solo most of the time. If you are able to find assistance from the faculty, consider yourself lucky. If anything, this college is a trial to test your self-reliance.

Admissions is very painful, with them collecting very sensitive information that has nothing to do with attending school. They asked for 12 months of the my bank statements, bills, and pay stubs because they thought I was trying to steal tens of dollars from Collin County. Unless you are my mortgage lender there is no reason for that information. Admissions couldn't care less about getting you into classes, the veterans office ignored my concerns. Despite applying to the school in March, admissions wasn't complete with my application by September forcing me to drop all of my classes this semester. THEY DO NOT CARE ONE SINGLE BIT ABOUT THE STUDENTS!!!
