Actual care provided, level of skill of providers, compassion to us was OUTSTANDING!!! The fees charged by this company, at the MOST VULNERABLE time in our lives should be illegal! Im a nurse in a hospital and I can PROMISE you hospitals up charge but NOTHING like this vet. I wish I could give a 5 star but I just cannot. The thought that you could have to euthanize your loved one bc you cant remortgage your home to pay the bill is unbearable. We are blessed enough to be able to afford our loved ones life, but I promise you not everyone could!!

I understand that the hospital has been renovated, and my family has been bringing our fur babies here for years. However my dog punctured his ear and was super itchy so I brought him in around 2:30 pm! Was told by the front that it would be about an hour wait before were seen and taken care of so I filled out paperwork! Then the nurse came in, and this review does not involve her as she was an angel with my dog and super nice to me, however explained that it would be about 7:00-8:00 pm before we would be out and I could pick him up when he was done! Fast forward to them telling me the procedure, costs, etc. and I am still sitting in the waiting room at 1:00 AM in the morning (almost 12 hours hes been here) and still dont have him! This is ridiculous and absolutely not worth the over $500 I just spent! Why are you holding my dog solely because you cant write an antibiotic or prescription and hes already completed his procedure so why dont I have my dog?

I have used them in the Past Before they Became Thrive, But Never for ER Care......(For Allergy Testing through Dr. Rees) Last Week my 135lb Bloodhound ate about 6 maybe 7 lbs of Wild Turkey Breast meat, Cooked, No Bones, off the Kitchen Counter (I Know I Screwed up bad) First time in 7 Years he has done anything like this....I have a WONDERFUL Vet, That has Helped me work through this issue, and Came to the House to Exam.....This Happened on Wednesday @ 2pm. Friday when his Vet came to Give him IV Fluids....WE made the Call, that if he had not Had a bowel Movement by Saturday @ 10am, I was to take him in to ER For Scans and Evaluation...The Suggestion was to go to Dallas Med Vet, But I decided that was much to Far for him to Travel, Given his Excitement when ridding in the Truck...Since I had good luck here in the past, I decided to make the Call. Worst case, I did not feel Comfortable and we Leave to Head to Dallas. I am glad I made that Call. Myself and my Vet called ahead, to let them know we were coming and so that they could Transfer over his Records. I got there about 1:46 pm, and we left around 5ish....Not bad AT ALL...They got him in a room Right Away, and I spoke to the Tech First, then the Doctor...Neither Tried to Rush me through, and were both Very Attentive & Thorough! Doctor Haggins put my Mind at ease about the Possibility of some sort of Blockage. The Tech gave me an Estimate, That I thought Was VERY reasonable for ER Care for a 135lb Dog (Everything with him is Expensive, and That is also why he has Insurance and a Savings Account of his very Own, I do not ever want to be in a situation that he is not able to get the Absolute Best Care Possible) They Got him Sedated, and Started the Exam...Luckily Zero Blockage, But the Amount of Protein his body had to Break Down, Did a number on his Stomach and Intestines. I was Pleasantly surprised that they had the Dosage size of the Meds he needed, Usually I get a prescription to take to CVS to Fill, Because he is 135lbs, and I get it, it is not Cost effective for all Clinics to stock the Levels of meds he needs without having to give 5 to 6 pills of Everything, Because , I guess the Largest Population of people Do not Have Giant Breed Dogs. But this again was not the Case. I was sent home with Very Clear and Precise Discharge Papers. Sunday Morning I received a Text to Find out how he was doing......... The Absolute only thing I would say was that it seemed as it The techs might have been a bit Standoffish because his size, and the Fact that he is very Vocal....But there again, I KNOW my Dog, they do not, so I also can understand this Might the Case...They don't know that he is a Giant Squishy Love Bug, who is Deathly afraid of a 5 lb Cat, But I know him, and I always come Prepared with the Muzzle so that Others are not scared of him... All in All, they made a Horrible Situation for me and my Sam a Better Situation.....So will I be back if I need there Services again....Yes, Yes I will! Lisa C. - Joshua, Texas

Everyone I spoke to was extremely kind and helpful. The technician looked in my cats mouth in the lobby and was able to advise that our situation was not an emergency and could wait until Monday. The vet on Monday confirmed this & our cat is healing up very well on her own. Cant tell you how much we appreciated the advice of the technician here!

Taking my pet to the Animal Emergency Hospital of Mansfield was a horrible experience. The vet on staff at the time was Dr. Brittany E. King. I went there because it was an emergency. My pet became suddenly ill over the course of 20 minutes and was vomiting often, so it was an acute injury. At the hospital, I was separated from my pet and put into a small room for FOUR HOURS. During that time, I spoke to someone for a grand total of about 8 minutes. I felt pressured to consent to very expensive tests. I initially only consented to a $359.05 x-ray, after which I was told that they had to have an expert consultation on the x-ray to the tune of $217.65. I guess because Dr. King can't read an x-ray? Two hours later, I was told the x-ray was clear - no foreign objects and the lungs were clear, so Dr. King pressured me into a $391.59 bloodwork panel, saying that she was certain that the bloodwork would reveal the cause of the illness. Guess what? It didn't. She spoke very condescendingly using medical jargon and quickly as if she were trying to keep me from asking questions. So they wanted to give him 5 different injections plus subcutaneous fluids (sub-cute, according to Dr. King) and send me home with additional antibiotics, all for the grand total of $1,800. Each injection came with the cost of the medication and a $32 injection fee! When I cut out a bunch of the fluff (a $25 can of food?), I got it down to $1,500 - still an obscene amount of money - and the tech tried to make me feel badly for declining those needless addons and snidely remarked that she "hopes" I'm doing enough and implied that my pet would continue to be sick and that I would be back since I didn't get all the recommended products. I took my cat to a real veterinarian the next day, who performed another x-ray ($130) - and was actually able read it herself - and confirmed that there was massive inflammation in his lungs. She gave him a nebulizer treatment (for free) and didn't charge me an injection fee to give him an anti-nausea medication. Please, do yourself and the world a favor. Do not go to the Animal Emergency Hospital of Mansfield. Let that place die and let its sub-par veterinarian go back to school for something else. One pro - the front desk staff was very nice, for the most part. If you are looking for a good vet, go to Mansfield Animal Clinic.
