I was transported to UMC for chest pain. The firefighter that gave me an IV during transport was awesome and lasted throughout my stay. Upon arriving to the ER, I was treated fast for my condition. I was admitted but never left the ER. I was stuck on a gurney all night in a room that was 65 degrees. It was cold. No one left me a remote so I had no way to contact the nurse or use the television. At some point I had to take a pee so I figured out away to get off the gurney. My lead nurse Jenny finally decided to check on me and noticed what I did so I told her what I did. Her lack of understanding the English language caused her to ask the question. I recanted again but this time a little firm. She looked at me and said chill . At this point I was in that freezing room on a 3 inch pad for hours. It was only after my wife came in the next morning that someone listened to us. The rest of the care cycle was good. So heres a little background about me, Im a retired efficiency expert with a background in JCAHO.

Their quality of care is impeccable, every one is so nice and professional. The lady that did my iv was perfect she did it on the first time, it didn't even leave a bruise. I didn't have to sign a ama for because I was there for 12 hours but other than that everything was perfect. Thanks again

We had a good visit. After 3 weeks of getting no help in New Mexico our primary told us to go to the ER in Lubbock. It was a long wait. In total about 30 hours. The hospital is full and the ER rooms are full but its understandable. All 20 people in the ER rooms needed to be admitted. Once we got in I had great care and a good surgery. Great teams here. So happy they fixed my issue (partially, have to follow up with a specialist) and got my bad infection under control.
