Doing business with DMS & Associates was a costly mistake. Our engagement with them turned out to be a case of a small business being taken advantage of by a seemingly unscrupulous group whose focus was less on helping the client and more on upselling ongoing services.
We sought consultation to establish our books and bookkeeping practices. The agreement called for them to deliver a "checklist of weekly, monthly quarterly and annual tasks we recommend." Instead we were presented information that we provided to them at the outset, general comments about bookkeeping, and an admonition to pay sales tax we collect.
It's a shame not all businesses are interested in making the community better. We learned our lesson and will certainly have no further association with this firm.
UPDATE: Following our review, DMS refunded our fee. We're still disappointed and are still seeking assistance with our new business, but want to acknowledge that they did offer the refund.
