I loved everything about Basecamp! The tent was kept so clean, there were no stains in the shower, you cant tell that other people have stayed there. Being able to go out on the porch in the mornings and have coffee and then go and kayak/paddle board made the best start to each day. I didnt take any pictures, but the pictures on the website look exactly how everything looks when you are there. The owners should be very proud of themselves. I cant wait to be able to stay again. Rooms: The tent is SO clean and well taken care of. We stayed during high 90-100 degree weather, and the tent stayed perfectly cool. The bed was extremely comfortable too. Nearby activities: The river access is such a great perk of staying here, along with the kayaks and paddle boards on the property. I loved kayaking so much that I bought one when we went home LOL.

This is an incredible place to stay. Glamping at its finest. This 'tent' is nicer than the best hotel rooms. The cute kitchenette, very comfy king size bed, soaking tub... And that's just the inside... outdoors you have a perfect little side yard with your own personal jacuzzi, fire pit, bbq grill. The front porch has a comfy chair and table for morning coffee or evening wine overlooking the beautiful valley down to the river. We will definitely be back. You'll want more than just a weekend to fully enjoy all this place has to offer. Including the off property river access, quiet, private and just perfect for an afternoon soak in the cool gentle rapids. Oh and I forgot to mention the digital concierge with check-in, restraunt referrals and all the info you need at your fingertips. Rooms: One large room with bed, kitchen and lovely bathroom. Nice flat screen TV and sitting area. Sleeper sofa if you need it. Well decorated, efficient and comfortable. Nearby activities: 20+ wineries about 45 minute drive. Kayaking, paddle boarding, very nice pool, and hiking on property. Fishing and river floating just down the hill, 5 minute drive. And of course all Kerville has to offer within 15 minutes. Safety: Extremely safe. Not on a main road. Only 6 cabins/ tents. Very quiet. Walkability: The grounds are very walkable but you'll need to drive anywhere off property. Food & drinks: Bring your own snacks, water, drinks... it's quite a distance to a corner store. Although there are at least 10 good restraunts within 15 miles. Noteworthy details: Was expecting more wildlife. But a nice 15 minute drive to Schriner Park and you have all the wildlife you need.

Our stay at Basecamp Resort exceeded our expectation! We stayed in Mary Meade and the tent was perfectly appointed for our stay. For a family of 4 it was just enough room to suit us comfortably. All the essentials were provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, pool towels, extra towels for the dogs, starter amount of coffee, salt, pepper, olive oil). The lake was a huge hit! The paddle boards and kayaks were so fun for the kiddos! The pool was gorgeous and the ping pong table was fun! There was no music at the pool- and several times my kids mentioned they wished there was a speaker so bring one with you. The private river access was also a blast! The water in that location was shallow enough that it was fun for small children and small dogs! The location was perfect for camp pickup if youre visiting the area for that reason. It took us about 7 minutes to get to Waldemar. However, keep in mind Hunt/Ingram is a TINY area- aside from the Hunt Store (which has fantastic Gluten Free burgers by the way) there really isnt anywhere great to eat- so bring what you need! The tent has a small dorm sized fridge, griddle, basic utensils/dishes, and a grill. I prepped most of our food for a 4 day stay at home and stored it in our coolers. The gas grill was perfect for grilling steaks and chicken and baking our homemade pizzas! The tent has a TV with Netflix and Hulu access (with your own sign in). We brought croquet and toys for the kiddos. I did not bring board games or cards and wished I had for the evenings! I assumed the tent would have something like that. After long days on the water it wouldve been nice to have! Overall, this is a great rental that is thoughtfully appointed, CLEAN, and comfortable! We will stay here again for sure!
