Edit: Over the last 6+ months the DFW Hobbytown stores have made alot of changes. They have increased stock tremendously, they have made several Staff changes and now have several very helpful people who love RC's and love what they do. They have made instore prices more closely match online prices and will automatically price match. Great job DFW area hobbytowns. (No longer applies - I only go hear when I need a part in a hurry because it's the only option. If you go here always check the price online because they raise all the in store prices. If you show them the online price they will reluctantly match it. This goes for most if not all the DFW area HobbyTown locations.)

I'm all about supporting local businesses, especially when it comes to hobby shops. I visited this store and least half of dozen times now and will never go back again. They have a nice selection and they are well stocked, but their return policy is ridiculous. On my second visit, I purchased a $100 battery for my Traxxas that was suggested by one of the employees after I told him what type of RC car I had. The battery would not work for my RC car because the Traxxas plug on the battery was a newer version. I returned the battery the NEXT DAY, and they refused to give me a refund (only offered me store credit). On my most recent visit, I purchased a Traxxas Sledge. I didn't realize until I got home, but they charged me $809 when it was listed on their website for $699.99. I immediately went back to the store verify why there was a discrepancy, but they just blamed it on a mistake. I honestly think they charge unsuspecting customers higher than the suggested manufacturer retail price. Because of my uneasy feeling I was now getting from this store, I decided to just return the Sledge. At first they were hesitant to return it (can you believe the audacity of the store manager; I just purchased this not an hour before and the box was unopened). They eventually decided to give me a return, but I will never risk purchasing another high dollar item from here again. Guess I'm lucky enough to go directly to the Traxxas store in McKinney. Update 3/21/2024: My suspicions are confirmed. EVERY item that Ive purchased from this location is priced higher than what is listed on the Hobby Town website. They say they match online prices; but why price items higher than your website in the first place?????
