I wish I could leave zero stars. When we signed on with Varsity ther sales person asked my husband what our daughters interests were and she was matched with a tutor whose interests were polar opposite and she wasn't a good match so we switched to a new tutor. The new tutor was awesome and worked very well with my daughter and had her showing great improvement. The problem was the platform. My daughter was tutoring twice a week on a standing Monday and Wednesday schedule. Every week, Varsity had cleared her off the schedule and either myself or our tutor had to call and get it fixed. Annoying but fine. We took spring break '24 off and when we tried to connect with our tutor the following Monday, I was told by our tutor that she was having issues with her entire account and couldn't get any help from the IT department. She said they would say they submitted a ticket and she wouldn't hear back, ever. So I called Varsity and I'm told that her contract is not being expired and will not be renewed. I asked if someone could tell her that because she had no idea. We "escalated" our issue and just got a call back today saying they are unable to reinstate her contract and we were offered a new tutor. This tutor has no idea and has received zero communication about her contract. Still, there has been zero communication to our tutor letting her know that her contract is even expired!!! "Jason" in the customer service department lied to me and said she was advised about her contract. I told him that I myself had advised her the day prior and she had no knowledge of the issue being with her contract. Terrible business practice. Our tutor is wonderful and is an actual teacher and has received no less than 5 stars from me. Varsity has done my daughter a giant disservice and I will tell everyone I know what a joke Varsity Tutors is as a company. Shame on you Varsity Tutors. Do better.

Do not subscribe!!! We had a wonderful experience with the tutors, but TERRIBLE experience with support staff. Turns out when you purchase a package, any unused sessions do not carry over to the next month. Really?? I learned this when $775 was drafted from my account and I realized the unused sessions from the previous month were lost. I immediately canceled my subscription and used no further sessions. Evidently, the money-back guarantee is not actually a money-back guarantee. Shanique B reached out to schedule a call to resolve and was a no-show for the call. Yep. Subsequent efforts to reach her have been ignored. One month out and still no refund. Awful experience.

This is not a reputable company, they take your money and disappear. There customer service department, does not answer the phones, ignores emails. They scam parents of there money, they continue to bill your credit card, even when you don't even receive any tutoring sessions. All tutoring is online, parents beware, they rip me off bad. Unethical people, you would be crazy to use these con-artists.

I LOVED our experience with Varsity until it was time to leave. The website was easy to use and the platform to schedule sessions, communicate with tutor, etc was easy to use. The quality of our tutor was excellent. It would have been 5 stars until I tried to cancel my subscription because testing was finished and we no longer needed it. So now they get 3 stars - they make it difficult to cancel your subscription. You can't do it on the website and they just keep offering you better "deals" to stay. It was really annoyingl and I'm not sure I'd return now that I know you get the hard sell when you try to leave.

Biggest waste of money. The tutors don't show and when you complain, the customer support doesn't seem surprised AND they ask YOU if you've called the tutor. Why is it my job to track down the tutor who scheduled the session in the first place? Stay far away!
