Dr. Stavis helped me tremendously, he identified there was twisting in my eyes and scarring tissue from a childhood injury that cause my eyes to turn inward. The surgery was painless and the recovery was easy. Now my eyes are straight and I dont have to be so subconscious of my eyes being crossed when I look at people. He truly has changed my life and I couldnt thank him enough.

My wife recently had eye surgery and the doctor nor the hospital caught that my wife was pregnant which resulted in her losing the baby on top of his receptionist charging my wife extra charges on top of what the insurance charged. After my wife had surgery the doctor gave my wife the wrong prescription for her glasses so she thought her surgery wasnt successful which it was but it resulted in us losing a child, being overcharged and my wife had issues with glasses for months before the doctor finally admitted he gave her the wrong prescription for her glasses. Beware no one in this office is fully aware of what is going on. The Dr tried to blame the pregnancy test on the hospital and the receptionist tried to blame the insurance company on something she told my wife she had to pay up front. Honestly doesnt seem like anyone in this office knows what they are doing! Be aware you are going in here at your own risk!

Dr Stavis is amazing, he actually listened to me about the symptoms I was having. My eyes were hurting more & more frequently from my work on the computer and I tried to explain my issues to no less than five different opthmologists over the past two years. I was told my prescription was about the same each time & they weren't sure what was happening. They said to take frequent breaks and use eye drops. Dr Stavis thoroughly examined me and knew immediately why I was in pain. He explained his diagnosis and I was so relieved that I cried. I waited 40 years to have that diagnosis! I could finally look forward to enjoying reading again. I really felt hopeless about ever finding an eye doctor who could help me. I tried one more time, researching Opthmologist's that treated Amblyopia. I tried Dr Stavis' s office and Melissa, his assistant, kindly answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable about discussing the problems I was having with my eyes. She squeezed me into Dr Stavis's busy schedule when l told her about my eye pain and I'm so grateful. Dr Stavis delayed leaving for his trip to exam me. I totally recommend Dr Stavis and his caring staff to anyone searching for an exceptional Opthmologist.

UPDATE TO THE REVIEW : Looks like I am not the only one OVER CHARGED by that old receptionist. ( refer to the review by Prometheus Borden). I was charged the hospital portion of 1500 ( and even said they cannot perform the surgery without it) . After reviewing the statments and repeated followups I got my 500 back out of the ~1200 she overcharged. I chose to be generous because of the wonderful job Dr.Stavis did. Dr Stavis is wonderful. Very friendly, perfect diagnosis and resolution always . Very easy to schedule appointments. He is a busy person so there may be chances or rescheduling, but its worth it. EDIT : We met another Doctor for eye checkup and she said the Doctor who had performed the eye alighment has done a perfect job with precision. Thanks Dr.Stavis. This review has nothing to do with your quality, it was more about the administrative issue.
