(0 stars)how is this company even in business and Rick Garcia lacks communication and professionalism at the last minute they ran out of funds for my clients file . The builder had to inform us Rick didnt even have the decency to inform my client himself. Dont bank on this company

Horrible, I was quoted a lower Interest rate and additional incentives for free but after 3 months when it came for the closing, they want me to pay $5,000 additional for the same free incentives, stay away.

Avoid lending with them if you can, you can receive better rates elsewhere if you have excellent credit. For reference, I have an 826 score and my husband 790. This is our 9th home purchase in 20 years out of 3 states, so we aren't spring chickens. Colina was offering $14k in incentives if we went with Colina Mortage. Rick Garcia gave us a joke of a rate at 7.49, and then offered buy down's of 7.125 and 6.875 where we would have lost the incentives and brought more to the table. There was zero good faith in giving us anything even close to market rates. To boot, Kyle Blanchard McLeod spoke to my husband like he was new to the home buying process with a very condescending tone and nothing but a script. We took our loan elsewhere and received a 6.8 rate, and even better offer at 6.375 with a very slight buydown and an incentive. Avoid builder lenders when you can, they just sell off your mortgage to the next fly by night lender, and you'll be dealing with a buy out every few years. Their loyalty is the builder and their own bottom line, and not providing a fair rate to the buyer, plus if they can get that incentive back in some way with a waving carrot, they will. Reputable lenders can give you way better rates. We are excited for our build and so far are happy working with Colina on that side of the deal.
