(Translated by Google) Very bad attention from the person who is at the reception, a person with a bad character and a bad way of answering, I am not interested in that school for my children. (Original) Muy mala atención por parte de la persona que se encuentra en la recepción una persona de mal carácter y mala forma de contestar no me interesa esa escuela para mis hijo.

My son came to Hogg as a transfer student in 7th grade to leave a bad situation going on at his prior school with disciplinary problems. The principal heard my concerns and welcomed him with open arms. He was placed in the magnet program and has not looked back. Teachers are awesome and truly concerned about the students which these days have been hard to find in public schools. They have sports and plenty of clubs which is a great start for a well rounded individual. They also keep you informed about school activities etc if you sign up to receive. Sad to say he is leaving to go to 9th next year, but his sister is currently in the sixth. One less school to worry about, and you parents know what I mean.

This school is O.K. One thing I find about this school and can’t ignore is how much money the school keeps asking for. They had this roller skating thing for ten dollars for 5 days. The second day, the people who didn’t pay had to do gym equipment. They also “advertise” a lot. They do a lot of dances during the year. All of which are basically the same, except different prices (between 3-5 dollars). They play the same music and give the same food, in which is extra. The funny thing is, the school knows the cafeteria food is disgusting, so they give out dominos pizza (which is $2.75 a slice), some fries, and some other item I can’t remember. The field is disgusting currently in 2018. It has BILLIONS of any piles, lots of holes, and is in very bad shape in general. There is some mold on the outside wall. Thankfully, there are going to renovate it, which is good for PE classes. I think all of this is because of the fact the school wants to keep all of the money for itself, or for things that aren’t needed (lots of macs). The teachers are really nice. I swear. They care about you. Hopefully HISD notices this and hopefully hold a meeting to change the actions of the school. I’m not saying to not bring your child here, just consider.
