My experience at St. Lukes was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Following my surgery, I experienced urinary retention, which led to significant discomfort and concern. Despite this, the hospital staff seemed indifferent to my situation. On the day after my surgery, a doctor from the surgeon's team wanted to discharge me with a foley catheter. When I expressed my discomfort and requested to stay another day, I was told that my insurance might not cover the additional night. Feeling pressured, I reluctantly agreed to discharge. However, just as I was about to sign the paperwork, the decision was reversed, and I was allowed to stay longer. During my stay, I experienced a lack of communication and follow-up regarding my urinary retention. Despite being told that urology doctors would visit me, they never did. I was put on a catheter five times, each time causing me significant pain and discomfort. On my last day, I was alarmed when my urine became bloody, but the nursing staff seemed unconcerned. When I inquired about seeing a urologist, I was told that I would need to go home first and then make an appointment myself. The lack of support and guidance from the hospital was incredibly distressing. After being discharged with a catheter, I continued to experience pain and discomfort. A visit to urgent care revealed that I had developed a urinary tract infection (UTI). Additionally, I received a letter from my insurance company stating that the last day of my inpatient stay was not approved due to insufficient medical records from St. Lukes. When I contacted St. Lukes to request additional records, I was met with unhelpful and dismissive responses. One staff member even suggested that I come to the hospital in person to collect the records myself. Overall, my experience at St. Lukes was a nightmare. The lack of communication, inadequate medical care, and unprofessionalism of the staff made an already difficult situation even more unbearable. I would not recommend St. Lukes to anyone based on my experience.

St. Luke's and its staff are absolutely incredible. Our mother was having a hellish experience at Memorial Hermann, but they were able to transfer her and make room for her almost effortlessly. It was such a night and day experience across the board. From a hospital where people were cold with her and us, not correctly contacting the family though they had updated information, going over her medical history, and so much more. But at St. Luke's it was a completely polar experience in the best ways. It pains me we didn't start there, but we had to go with what was closest, nor did we know the severity of everything. The doctors and staff all felt like honest people. They were upfront, real, straight forward, and did their best at every opportunity. I can't recommend them enough. That being said, much like my negative reviews for Memorial Hermann Katy and Medical Center, they're huge buildings with huge staff. So it's certainly possible that the experience may not be the same for everyone. Some departments may be better, some worse. Same for employees. There are just too many variables. All I can do is share my experience in hopes that it helps others. All I can say is thank you St. Luke's, from the bottom of my heart. I know you did everything you possibly could for our family. You kept us up to date, you were honest, and you were straight forward. That all meant the world to all of us. All the love to the staff. Especially the staff on the 20th floor in the yellow tower.

St Lukes transfer patients to kindred Hospital a Nigerian Hospital. The entire Nursing staff at Kindred hospital are black Nigerians who are very difficult to communicate with especially in an Emergency situation. A Black Nigerian nurse KC was asking the patient several times, "are you in Pen?". The patient could not understand. Nurse kc was trying to ask the Patient, "Are you in Pain?" The care quality at kindred hospital is the worst. Black Nigerians cannot communicate with the white Anglo and Hispanic patients from Houston Texas. St Lukes Stop transferring patients to kindred hospital or they will die with the inadequate health care at kindred. Patients care from Registered Nurse at St Lukes to LVN nursing lower level of care at Kindred. Your Cancer patient Vega the LVN forgot to continue the TPN and went lethargic when his Na+ Sodium level increased to 183 and wouldnt respond.
