I was helping my mother get a lamp shade and then went home and told my wife to get that old lamp that needs fixin, I know the perfect place!         I brought in a vintage arc lamp whose shade had shattered when it fell (old plastic). The shade was fixed and the lamp base was weighted down so it doesn't fall over anymore. It was a little more than I was hoping to pay, but with inflation, I wasn't surprised. It wasn't unreasonable, and I'm very happy with the lamp.
