I received a root canal and crown from this dentist and his wife who is also a dentist. The root canal became infected and I had to receive antibiotics, then the crown became wiggly and fell out. I returned to his office and he said the tooth may not have been completely dry before he applied the cement. He re-cemented the crown. He then stated that if that didn't work he would do another procedure to secure it at no charge. Within a short time while I was visiting relatives out of town, it again fell out, I notified him immediately and told him when I would be back in Houston to get it fixed. I went into his office and he again re-cemented it , but then asked "You have not yet used your dental insurance for this year have you. He said if this doesn't work I will do a more extensive procedure and I'll eat the cost of the new crown and with insurance you will only pay about $500. I asked what about what you said before that you would fix the crown at no additional cost. He went on to explain how when he did the crown, he did the most conservative type which does not always work because the bone maybe too shallow and may not hold. Now he will have to go deeper into the bone to get it to hold. I was livid because this was never discussed with me initially and I did not want a procedure that "hopefully might work'. This was not a cheap procedure and with the amount of money paid by me and the insurance I wanted a professional assessment to get it fixed appropriately the first time. I lost confidence in this dentist and I would not recommend him. My crown has again fallen out for the third time in less than a year and I am going to contact my insurance company to find out what recourse is available for me to rectify this inferior work.
