Candlewood Suites Harlingen, an IHG Hotel

Wonderful room, comfortable bed, quiet area, many many food locations within 3 minutes drive and expressway 30 seconds away. Nice kitchen area in room, cooking and serving utensils readily available. We will DEFINITELY look forward to this chain brand hotel again!

Please believe all the bad reviews this hotel has. My family and I were meant to stay here for two nights, and we left after one. During the night, there were roaches crawling around the headboard and even on the bed. There were roaches in the bathroom, and by the trash in the kitchen area. When we went to see about getting a new room, the employee said theyre fully booked, which after reading another review it just seems like an excuse. There were many things wrong with this room! I would never recommend this hotel unless they were to deep clean every room, and get an exterminator in there. Maybe give the rooms an update too, especially those bathrooms. It seems that the owner doesnt care enough to get these problems fixed.

Dirty. Bugs. Dirty. Everything about this room disgusted me. I'm positive it wasn't cleaned before me. When I asked for a clean room I was told "all rooms were booked". Stain on bedding. Little cockroaches everywhere, crawling on walls, the doors, the tub. A LOT of hair in tub. The washcloth was brown, soap in the conditioner pump. The doors looked like they have never been wiped down. Cracked floors, cracked sink, cracked counter, the toilet rocked back and forth hitting the wall... Taking a shower I felt dirty.
