SML - Simple Moving Labor

SCAMMERS! Used them in New Jersey. They showed up late to the pick up location, smoked weed in the truck with all of my stuff inside, disappeared for an hour between pick up and drop off location, and then showed up at the 3 hour contract time with my stuff stating that they wouldn't unload unless I paid double. After receiving part of the money, they dumped my items on the side of the road and apartment lobby, which broke my bookshelf and tv stand, and took off without actually moving the items. No one in customer service picked up after that. COMPLETE SCAM.

WARNING! Do not use this company for packing and/or loading your goods for moving. They are not professionally trained for this and damaged most of our belonging that they were responsible for packing. They did not use the extra boxes, blankets, bubble wrap, straps, shrink wrap, tape, etc. that we provided for protecting the goods. Instead they just shoved goods into moving pods so it would fit with no protection. They also loaded heavy items on top of other items with no added protection thereby damaging the lower items. USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! They might be good at loading a dumpster.

Said would only use 75% of the truck, ended up going over SIGNIFICANTLY. Had to get an additional U-Haul on my own dime. Then when talking to a customer service manager, she said they could only give me a $200 discount. Afterwards, she then said if I didn't pay the remainder of balance, my stuff would get held. I never said I wouldn't pay, so to bring this as a talking-point was horrible! They are good up until the sale, then afterwards the level of service goes down. To me, here is how I look at them.......look at reviews they are given here, if you notice, they only respond when someone gives them praise. How about they also respond to negative to show they care. They say they are "white glove", but my experience was anything but it. They said the right words, but their actions are lacking and don't back up anything. I will never use them again.

While I really appreciated the great job the movers did - especially unloading the truck - the person that set up the work booked 5 hours each for a one bedroom apartment load and truck unload into a storage building which was WAY over what time was spent doing that. It wasn't made clear to me that they would refund only one hour of the time and while it was in the contract (which I admit I missed when reading it and take responsibility for that) no one ever told me during the booking that they would only refund 1 hour of unused time on each job. Therefore a job that only took 2 hours wound up costing me 4. I was not very happy about this and will caution anyone I recommend you to, to be very sure to book minimum hours and then pay for an overage if one happens. This is kinda shady to me. BUT that being said the movers were efficient, friendly and very professional. They did a great job packing the truck and unloading it into the storage building. I definitely will use you again, but I will NOT be sucked into overbooking hours.

I used this service as part of my employers relocation services and the service was abysmal. The movers were over 45min late and the SML rep over the phone blamed it on traffic when it was well past rush hour in Rochester, NY which is a small city. The movers came and did not consider packing the items properly and after loading when the door was opened my drawer came crashing out. One of the worst moving services I've used.
