I give this horrible place a Zero!!There is no communication with this place at all tell you they are going to come up with a treatment plan to help my daughter, have not yet till this day been called with a plan of what they want to do to help as far as therapy type of medication suggestions. you call and ask what is the plan what do you recommend outside patient cuz obviously being in there is no place a child or parent wants the child to be at, have they called to give me the the treatment plan no, all they call for real quick is to up there medicine all they want to do is medicate medicate as a solution. This Place is the worst ever, All they do is lie to you all around. First tell you that there is an order to keep her there but yet want you to sign the voluntary admissions and you may take them out whenever you want if you choose to but yet you try to go get your child and right away threaten you with we will have to report to cps for ama. Give you a paper with visiting day got there and turns out there was no visit they gave me incorrect info or they changed it due it being an adult unit before, that my child was told. My daughter was looking forward to her visit with us why would she not tell us if there was a change, or a courtesy call . They are extremely rude never have any information none of your questions can be answered. I will be putting in a complaint to the state this place is not here to help they are here just to bill and make it go as high as it can. Please don't ever put your child in this horrible place out patient there maybe the best to help your child.

I had call tons of time to speak with the nurse in charge and no one will ever answer the call. They keep transferring me or placed me on hold then hang up. This is very disappointing and disrespectful for family members when we choose Rio Vista for the trust with our family in need. Unit 5 must be very short of staff for me trying for 3 days to get in touch with some one. Sincerely,, Myrna Ramos

Like everyone has been saying, do NOT take your family members there. They are awful, night person named Diane forgot to hang up the phone after treating us bad and was laughing with someone else about our conversation. Our family member went in voluntarily and after 72 hrs without a court order they haven't released him. Forcing him to stay. Awful place.

The worst treatment I have ever received in my life. Absolutely atrocious. Treatment is not coordinated by a physiatrist or psychological but by group therapists and patient? monitors or whatever you call them. The medical doctors or whatever you choose to call them. They are incompetent on the medicSl side and the same on the psychological side. They desere to be closed and insight into thewY this behavioral hospital is managed is non existent. This mental hospital is an exact copy of one flew over the Cookoos nest and ya they do have nurses who fit the role perfectly and should be closed. They keep patients who have insurance long as they can. They send people home without knowing how they are or how they will fare. I am terribly sick and much worse then when i signedmyself in because of severe withdrawal problems from an addictive drug was prescribed for 5 years without the doctor or his NP EVER telling me the drug a benzo was adictive. Don't put yourself or anyone else through the hell I was exposed to at Rio Vista or the nightmare you live through after discharge which should have never happened because of medical problems they couldn't address. A long way from being done. Still very sick feel like it's critical but definitely NOT going into another EL PASO behavioral hospital. My withdrawal from Clonazepam was a hell of a lot better at home simply because the so called phsciatric treatment from group therapy maybe 10 minutes a day from so called therapists and continuous lies does nothing for people with multiple medical problems who are also OLD. I should have never been admitted and a 1/2 inchpad does not solve severe back problems nor does seeing people beaten or a true nut case breaking furniture and taken 3 inch screws calm your mind. If course you can say the same for employees like nurse RATCHET the Black female doctor and really every employee who lied about doing their best to get me released. Seems strange the person who needed help but had no insurance
