This doctor took the place of DrBhatt. My elderly parents have waited days to get their prescriptions. CVS says its the doctor! Multiple phone calls to the office to be told Ill talk to the doctor! These are heart medications that theyve been out of for 8+ days. Doesnt matter that one of them was in the ER recently and needs the medicines! Doctor isnt doing her part. They make appointments with her and get pit with the nurse practitioner. Things were not like this with Bhatt. Very disappointed!

Scheduled telemedicine appointment only to find out they wanted to collect a $30 copay before the connection could be completed. Medicare does NOT require a copay for a telemedicine appointment. They do not know what they are doing!

Ive seen reviews here and elsewhere talk about the staff at USMD being the worst part about receiving care with Dr. Atrey. Oddly enough, they were the better part of my experience with her over the two years she was my PCP. They were either helpful or did whatever Dr. A asked them to do, even if it meant saying or doing something that is not in the patients best interest. I get that they were doing their job, but sheesh. When I addressed valid concerns about my healthphysical, mental, emotional, etc., the most Dr. A would say is that it was related to weight, needing to change medication, or even my favorite that I needed to find another job because thats where these problems were coming from! No legitimate referrals; no evaluations; nothing. I dont want to say that she was not equipped to work with a patient who may need specialized care which was discovered after having worked with other doctors who actually listenedbut she definitely seems to be comfortable with her niche of patients, which I am not part of.

Dr. Atrey herself is very attentive and listens to all of your concerns. I think its the USMD policy that makes it very hard for patients to communicate with the office or get anything done first time around. This low rating is solely based on how difficult it is to get anything communicated to the clinic staff - whether it is lab results, prescription requests, any other requests, referrals etc. It seems like the staff just assumes things and does not pay attention to detail. I had a first hand experience with my prescription request because i was prescribed a generic medication previously and switched to brand due to side effects. But the nurse who called in the pharmacy requested the generic medication instead of the brand because she "assumed" that it was the previous medication. I had to go back and forth with the pharmacy and the doctor over and over again because you cannot get a hold of anyone in the clinic- when you call it leads to a call center agent who takes your msg and passes it on to the clinic staff- There have been many times things have not been delivered properly, insurance information not updated properly even though i called several times. I requested a dermatology referral during my doctor visit in April. It is almost end of may and the dermatologist never received it. So i emailed them with the dermatologist's fax number requesting them to send the referral again. No response so far. So i email again and now i am waiting for a response. I cant imagine what other elderly patients have to go through with this office if they were trying to get things done on their own. They seriously need to improve their communication and have a better system to make it easier for patients to talk to a clinic staff more efficiently and in a timely manner. I like Dr. Atrey but if this continues on I will be switching my doctor very soon.
