Please see attached termination letter for the horrible case handling from Rudy Vrba and Lindsey Pruitt. To Whom it May Concern I am writing this letter to terminate any client lawyer relationship, that remains, due to malpractice and neglect of my case. Throughout the last year there has been a lack of communication on VRBA law firms part with questions left unanswered, along with many mistakes that resulted in a significant financial and emotional loss to myself. Divorce paperwork was not filed for an entire month after contracting your firm, resulting in stolen property and finances hidden by the other party TRO was filed improperly and therefore resulted in a denial; there was no subsequent attempt to file a protective order after that and no regard for my safety. When I brought up the lack of a protective order during our meeting Rudy stated a little bit of pushing was not enough evidence of abuse, despite photo documentation. I was charged over $360 to not have a TRO No discovery or contempt of court was filed despite numerous requests on my part ultimately resulted in a significant loss to myself and my assets. During the mediation Lindsey was not prepared and did not have enough knowledge of the assets or my case to advise me properly. Numerous times I was reminded that VRBA would be happy to keep taking my money but that I should settle to avoid court. As I was requesting to go to court. VRBA stated that it was required by law to do mediation before we could go to court and that spousal support would not be awarded to me in the state of Texas; neither of which is true. I was told that if I went to court the Judge (due to retirement) would not want to hear my case and getting in the weeds and all the details of such; so I would most likely lose. Fees were assessed at a high level attorney rate for the entirety of the billing (except when I contested during our meeting), billing for services not actually provided (the spreadsheet) and billing for calls concerning billing. Due to the mishandling of my case and the evidence of such, I will be filing with the state bar to investigate, and I will be pursuing recouping of the charges your law firm assessed to this case.
