So they replaced a water heater for me 4 years ago and everything was great. It stopped working and is under warranty, so I figured it would be easy to get it fixed. Not so much. Was told they would be arriving between 11 and 1 so I took the rest of the day off and went home. The technician arrived between 5:30 and 6. Told me the parts supply warehouse closed at 5 so there was nothing he could do to get the hot water working today. Also told me there is no power going to the water heater so I need an electrician. I had already checked the power before calling for service but thought I would check again. Sure enough, 120 volts. Sounds like the guy just wanted to go home. Called them again as they are supposed to be here in the morning. Rinse, repeat. Not sure what has changed in 4 years but I would not recommend.

Update: Initial experience was great. It's been three years since the install. I was having some AC work done and we were checking on a PVC drain line. We opened the hot water heater closet to confirm that it was from the hot water heater and not from an AC Unit. At some point after install, the 2X4 wooden mount that they used to install the unit has detached from the drywall on the left side. (It was installed into a stud on the right side, and into drywall on the left...and as a result the left side is completely hanging free). It's a gas unit, and the AC guy notes that if they had just run a longer 2X4 (like 14 more inches) they could have attached it into the stud on the left side as well and that I should call them back out. He also noted that the drywall screws seemed to not be long enough to hold well. I put in a call and speak with the gentleman who answered. He asked if the unit was still working, and I told him it was...that it just needed to be reattached to the wall before it completely detached and fell on the gas/water pipes underneath it. He said it doesn't sound like a repair call, but someone would get back to me. I wait about three weeks, and then I send a follow-up email. I got this response that evening from Mai. "Thank you for sending this email. We will review and get back to you as soon as possible. " That was a week ago. I followed up with a reminder email a couple days later, with no response to that one. Apparently, we'll get back to you means "ignore their customer and hope the problem goes away". My advice, buy a Navien unit (it's great!)...but get it from someone else who will be there if their installation work needs some TLC down the road.
