Beautiful You Studios Beauty, Boudoir, & Branding Photography

November 27, 2023, Shawna came into the studio to do a boudoir session for her boyfriend Habbib. As is our standard practice during every session, we showed her back of camera during the entire shoot & she squealed in delight over every photo we showed her. Regarding the prepayment - after 14 years in business and hundreds of not only Google reviews but also video reviews, we have reached the point where we have built a reputation for ourselves such that folks are flying out to our studio from around the country. This being said, for full-day experiences, we no longer take the risk of losing a full day of our time to no shows and/or folks who suddenly have every excuse under the sun as to why they can not afford to pay for our services once they are complete. We do have smaller, 30-60 minute packages where prepayment isn’t required as this is less potential waste of our time. Shawna was welcome to book at any studio in town, but chose us, chose to abide by our policies, & signed not one but two contracts stating that she agreed to the terms of choosing our business for her photography needs.At the end of her session, she loved her photos - we have video of her stating so - so much so that she couldn’t narrow them down. We could’ve stood firm on charging the extra money for them but instead, we gave her the option of receiving extra images for free in trade for leaving a positive Google review about her experience, which she chose to do. She was not coerced in any manner, especially as we already have tons of reviews & therefore money is more valuable. We provided this option out of the kindness of our heart.During her session we learned that her boyfriend owned Triad Home Solutions General Contracting, a construction company. In need of a new set for the studio, we provided images of the set we desired & requested a quote for the services. The quote given was $2500. Once the job was semi complete (it still remains incomplete to this day), we were suddenly invoiced an extra $2198 for supposed extra work that had been done & supposed extra materials for a job that is incomplete & looks nothing like what we were promised. Having done woodworking projects in the past ourselves, we knew what the wood actually cost & no extra time had been spent on the job so we felt scammed & refused to pay anything more than the $2500 we had been originally quoted, especially for a job that looks nothing like what we were promised.Now, months later, Shawna has updated her formerly 5 star review to a 1 star in what we assume is retaliation for refusing to pay the extra $2198 bill that came out of nowhere for an incomplete job.
