        Gap between high ideals vs desperation evident here. The sculpture wall called The Birth of a City is around the corner of the fenced park. The bronzes tell a story of African-Americans role in the history of Dallas. The park/event space is for fundraising, otherwise locked. The art does lend some dignity to the encampment on the sidewalk. The people staying on the sidewalk were polite. I think they were waiting for dental assistance from the agency across the street.
