Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas Downtown

First - Absolutely the worst elevators. Can't handle the traffic, and even worse is the elevator system where you have to select your floor on the TouchPad outside the elevator- no buttons inside. Problem is during busy times you get an error message telling you to wait and try again. Terrible system! Second - the room amenities reflect a budget hotel. I guess it's great if you want a kitchen, if not there's little to recommend here.

I stayed here over the weekend due to visiting and supporting loved ones. My suite was perfect, clean and the housekeepers were sweet and accommodating. Will stay again in my return.i requested late checkout and rested til 12 pm with no interruptions. My only gripe is the valet terms and the timeliness of invoicing. I stayed 2 nights and only used my car once. The attendant at check in told me to be sure to checkout before 1pm to avoid an additional charge. I checked out at 12pm and 6 days later I received an additional bill for valet. Today I find out that the fee is $45 each night no matter what and you have the freedom to leave and self park at any time. I will return and stay in the future.

Great location. If you are staying to visit places in the downtown such as aquarium or perot museum, you do not have to take your car out. You also have lots of restaurants around the hotel. Room was neat. Bathroom was also neat. House keeping is daily. Breakfast was fine. One disadvantage is parking. There is street parking, garage parking or valet parking. Recommend valet parking though expensive. Walkability: As mentioned above score is high.

So this happened. Our bag got stolen from our hotel room on the first night. Passports, wallets, laptop, all taken. And we were traveling with our kids. Our stay at this hotel was a total nightmare. My wife and 2 boys (an infant and a toddler) decided to travel to Dallas for a conference. Traveling with young kids is stressful enough, but having our bag stolen, from our hotel room, was a total nightmare and disaster. It happened an hour after we checked in. We were away from home, without any proper IDs in Texas for a week. We are still dealing with the potential of Identity theft and recovering our passports and IDs. Its been a few months since our luggage got stolen, and we still have heard nothing from corporate mariott. The hotel General manager has been helpful and seemed genuinely sorry for what has happened. However, the whole case went to their property liability insurance, and communication with them has been terrible. Their lead adjuster pretty much ghosted us. Its been a few months since this theft, and we still have not been compensated for our loss. I would never stay here again. And shame on Mariott for not doing better. Safety: Beware of theft. Our luggage got stolen on our first night, with most of our valuables.
