I try to support small, local businesses every chance that I get, but this shop was a huge disappointment. From the sign on the front door saying No Photography allowed, to sales people following you around, this was a very unpleasant experience. Offerings weren't anything that I wouldn't see at the Dallas Market (and they are happy to allow photography!) so I am not sure why they are so protective of their merchandise. As much as I would love to support a store like this, there are better places in Bishop Arts to shop where they will appreciate your business.

Diana was great and just happen upon the perfect gift for my moms bday and helped me with a shirt for my son. Have really cute purses and wonderful sales on nice quality clothing.

Ugh !! I hated my experience here. My friend and I were followed around the whole time and it was even awkward at some points because we could feel them staring at us! Weird and a bit rude wont be back

Cute shop with random trinkets, clothes, games, etc. A woman uncomfortably kept following my friend around the store, so we set our things down and left (night of 12/23/23). And in turn, no sort of apologetic behavior in response for following people around (NOT just standing and roaming the store, but following). Staying out from behind the counter and staying off your phone, does not mean you need to follow customers around constantly.

We do not allow photography for the very reason you stated regarding "supporting small business". Any small business you interact with will share the same sentiment regarding photos taken for the purpose of shopping online. Vendors taking photographs at market is different than customers taking photographs in brick and mortar small businesses. We are not protective of our merchandise, we are protective of our salespeople’s desire to earn a living. Brick and mortar stores exist so that you may enjoy the "in person" experience, and not use our "small business" brick and mortar stores as a showroom for Amazon or the like. Our merchandise is sourced from all over the world not just Dallas market - wooden puzzles from Ukraine, cards, journals, magnets, candles from local Dallas talent. Repurposed hand painted wood artwork from women in South Africa. Upcycled handcrafted leather handbags from Barcelona. APNY clothing by Dallas designer. Our label, Bishop Street Apparel clothing. We are proud of our merchandise and do not feel it's fair for us to curate these wonderful finds only to have some take photos and shop online. There is room for both online and brick and mortar. Please continue to support brick and mortar small business. It really does make a difference for the better :)I know you’ll love our store if given another chance. And please try to understand our perspective. Thank you :)

We don’t allow our sales people to stand behind the counter, or stay out of sight of our customers. They enjoy the opportunity to engage, and sell all the unique and creative treasures we sell in our store. Absolutely no harm or offense intended. Especially during the holiday season when our customers are searching the perfect gift. Nothing more frustrating than walking in to almost every store and sakes staff is on their phone or nowhere to be found.
