My husband is a disabled veteran with dementia, and was being transferred to Baylor. I called to speak to his nurse, or at least the nurses station before he got there to let them know about his situation with his cognitive impairment before he arrived. However, since he wasnt there People that answer the phone refused to allow me to speak to the nurses station. Keesha and teesha and then they transferred me to the manager Tracy and they all refused to let me speak to anybody. So I asked for a hospital administrator so I could explain the situation, and they refuse to allow me to speak to a hospital administrator as well. So my husband will be arriving in a place not knowing where hes at or why because hes having a spell with delirium right now, and they refuse to allow me to give anybody an update before they get there.

This morning I needed to rush my mom to the emergency room and this place was a nightmare Just to find. I drove in circles three times trying to find a way to access the emergency room entrance and it was so utterly futile that I ended up going to a different hospital all together and lost precious time doing it. This is a really convoluted set up and contrary to Emergency.

My brother was in Baylor Medical/Roberts Building prior to his demise. His nurse of many was Amanda B. I want her immediate supervisors, whomever they are to know that this young lady was very skillful, helpful, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and above all, "professional". I don't mean to imply that she was the only nurse he had but, she was the only one I saw on a regular basis prior to his transition to Glory. Amanda could not have done anymore or been anymore cordial, and helpful to any of her family members as she was with my brother. I want her to know that her efforts were and still are appreciated. He could not have had a better caregiver period! Amanda represents every attribute that a good nurse should and Baylor should be proud to have young nurses in their employ who are as diligent as Amanda. I don't know what protocol is there but, I'd appreciate it if you would give Amanda B. a copy of this note. I think that people need to be told when they have exceeded expectations in a good way and, they need to know while they are still around to hear them. Once we are no longer here, it's too late to hear the kind words from patient's families. Thank you. Ms. Joi Cross, Sister Deric A. Cross, Nephew
