Do yourself a favor and steer clear. Matthew, the "CEO" is a real piece of work and can't fix a sandwich much less a roof. Thought he wouldn't get caught making moves on my wife during business hours. Oh boy, was he wrong. He's quite lucky that I'm such a levelheaded individual. LOL

GreyHammer was great to work with. We were adding a room addition to our home and we needed a general contractor. We were put in contact with this company from a close friend. They responded to our inquiry almost immediately. Our entire relationship has been professional and honest. They kept a constant line of communication open and clear throughout the entire project. I will continue to use these guys for any future general contracting needs (thinking about bathroom remodeling next!), this is one satisfied customer right here !!!

***UPDATE*** I just wanted to update this review with some clarification of my experiences and the current situation. Matthew Karn is the person who all my previous experiences laid out in the review revolve around. I have been contacted by Farhan Merchant regarding my experiences and the damage. He is going above and beyond trying to fix the problems that Matthew Karn is unwilling to handle. Farhan actually came onsite himself to assess the damages and agreed that it was their/Matthew Karn's issue to take care of. The current status is the replacement materials have been ordered with the help of Farhan and we are waiting on an install date from Matthew Karn. So in the mean time if you seek services from Grey Hammer make sure you deal with Farhan. I will update the stars/review once this whole issue is resolved. ***Prior Review*** Roof replacement Short version. I contracted Grey Hammer for roof damage. Do not recommend (See review update). To start I have to say that they did make dealing with the insurance company relatively easy. That being said I believe that they put so much effort into that part of the process so that they can get as much money as possible. From the very beginning of my interactions with this company they would constantly show up unannounced or with little advance notice. There would constantly be between 5 days or even weeks of no status updates or communications from them. Fast forward 3 months after the roof install was complete I received a letter from the building supply company stating that I owed them over $3,000 and they would put a lean on the house if I did not pay. Contacted Grey Hammer about it and they said that there was a miscommunication between the supply company and their accounts payable department. Fast forward 2 more months and now I have my first roof leak. Water damage to the roof drywall and water all over the kitchen floor. Water was coming in through the clothes dryer exhaust on the roof. Water was flowing inside and on the outside of the dryer exhaust pipe so water was leaking inside the wall and into my dryer. My entire kitchen floor now shows water damage. I informed my Grey Hammer contact of this and it took 2 days for them to get someone out to fix the leak. Grey Hammer website shows 24hr turnaround for roof leaks. During those 2 days they claimed that it was an act of god without even have physically inspected the leak. The worker they sent to fix the leak arrived with no notice and climbed on and off my house from the roof of his van numerous times. This poses a huge potential liability and safety issue for all parties. When I voiced my concerns regarding this to my Grey Hammer contact he didn't care. The worker also didn't speak much English so I couldn't properly ask him anything regarding the leak but I do know all he did was apply roofing sealant which my company contact had said was not needed for the install. Company contact said that pieces were lifted due to heavy wind and the issue has been resolved. We had nowhere near hurricane winds and that is what he says my shingles are rated for. He is still claiming act of god. He then said that he was going to get the owner of the actual company that installed the roof to come and look at the damages. The "owner" showed up unannounced and again didn't speak much English. He kept trying to repair the leak and I kept telling him it had already been fixed. I point to his hat and ask if that was his company and he says yes. I looked up the company and go figure he doesn't own it. I ask my Grey Hammer contact what the company name is that installed the roof and he doesn't even know the name of the company. At this point it's been around 20 days post leak of Grey Hammer lying, passing the blame, and continuing to be unresponsive to communication.
