Final Edit as of 3/2: I finally was able to receive a gift card to Amazon from Slate as a reimbursement for my lost package. So they ultimately made it right, however, would still not recommend living there. Edit to Slate's response. They are correct, I didn't send them information from the FedEx claim, because their response to this review was the first time I heard about it!! Google Reviews is where they initially communicated to me they needed a FedEx claim for my lost package, and then sent me an email the FOLLOWING day outlining the ask. So, further proof they just try to turn everything around on the residents. Save yourself the trouble and find another apartment complex! EDIT FROM PREVIOUS POST: All the 5 star reviews that were given because of Stephanie should be removed from Slate at Coles page, she is no longer with Slate, and she is a main reason why this place was so great to live. Truly disregard any review that mentions Stephanie, because it is no longer relevant. Current management is all about the bottom line, which I can truly understand, but they couldn't care less about residents. Packing system is a disaster. If you're lucky enough to have a package delivered to a locker youre mostly good, otherwise it goes to a back room with no oversight, organization, notification or check out system. Slate lost/someone stole a Christmas present from my parents out of the back room and Slate has been awful to deal with and I am still awaiting their reimbursement for losing my package ($100 come on!!). Aside from the awful management and packaging system, any time it rains for more than an hour the entire one side of the garage completely floods!! To the point you cant drive in/out of it and takes at least a full 24 hours to rectify. My husband would wade through ankle deep water to move our cars mid-storm, usually to an ungated, visitor area because everywhere else was full, so we could access them the next day. Just absolutely AWFUL! Elevators are slow, stairs are not in a good location to take as an alternative to access the garage. The only good thing about this place is the location, that is genuinely the only thing I miss about it (now living in the suburbs). I have changed my recommendation and would suggest looking elsewhere. My previous post was part of a contest the complex asked us to partake in while Stephanie was still employed there. Original post: Slate at Cole is a fantastic place to live! Front desk and maintenance teams are quick to respond and super helpful! Location can't be beat, the walkability is one of my favorite things about Slate at Cole. I would definitely recommend living here!

Rating only based on the residents and not management/apartment: The community events here are incredible! We have done trivia nights, painting with a twist, pampered pets for Valentines Day and now Sur La Table! Winnie and Timothy make the community feel whole. We moved here not knowing anyone and made many friends by coming to the events.

EDIT: Stephanie no longer works at the community, so take that into considersation when you read all the great reviews about her now that she is gone compared to the community reviews themselves. Just a few things on the top of my head: Half the garage floods when it rains, and when I say flood it is ankle high if not higher. The package "system" is an absolute joke. You may be one of the lucky ones in the building who gets a package notification from Parcel Pending that your package is actually in a secure locker, otherwise you better start hoping its in the back office (that you can only access during their business hours and is on the honor system). If it's not there or stolen, "contact the carrier" will be the response you get from whoever is working that day. Or, maybe your package will be left in a huge box they use to unload their vehicles in next to the lockers and call it a day without any notification or securing them in a safe place to receive. Heck, sometimes they just leave it outside in the rain because they can't access the building and Slate will still tell you to contact them and it's not their fault. Lastly, don't expect any nice greeting when you walk in the door. Generally there is only 1 person in the office when you walk in and they wont look up from their cell phones unless you address them. Look elsewhere around the area, tons of cool new buildings and communities are being built within walking distance of the area. The maintenance team is great though for what it's worth. ORIGINAL POST: Slate at Cole is a great place to live. The location is amazing, in the ever growing Knox Henderson area. I have lived in the community for 5 years and cant speak highly enough of the Assistant Manager, Stephanie. She is passionate about the community and residents and always goes out of her way to help with prompt communication when needed. Maintenance staff is also very friendly and responsive. Would highly recommend living here!

I've lived here for only a few months but have had a great experience! The renovated apartment is very nice, it was clean for move in, and maintenance responds quickly. Only issues are flooding underground garage (expected with it being underground) and not enough locked package lockers. The community events are great! I was able to attend a free cooking class at Sur La Table and it was awesome. They always go above and beyond to provide a lot of good food/snacks at these events, which do bring in a lot of attendees. This is great for those moving that want a social life with your community.
