Dr. Mark L. Tappan, Optometrist

Dr. Mark Tappan is awesome. Been coming to him for about 10 years now for my eye care. Im originally from Corpus Christi but moved to Victoria. I travel here just to get the great care to my eyes that he provides. I highly recommend Dr. Tappan if you are ever looking for one of the best eye doctors in South Texas.

I drove my mom to get a second opinion on her vision because the previous place I took her to didnt give her the time of day except waiting in the waiting area for the majority of the time. We came here and were seen immediately! And corrected the mistakes that were made. All at a reasonable cost too! Definitely affordable and shes going to be going there from now on!

Now offering 10% on ALL Services for Military, Active Duty, Retired, and Dependents!!!!! I had the most thorough and comprehensive exam ever with Dr. Tappan. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed immediately upon arrival. Following my appointment, with him, which I paid a very reasonable amount out of pocket for, the VA finally set up my eye exam through them. I went to another eye exam provider in the area, which I did not have to pay out of pocket for, but the exam was NOT as comprehensive, I did NOT leave with any contacts in hand (like I did from Dr. Tappan), and SOME of the staff was VERY rude, at this OTHER Provider. When I asked them (SOME of the staff) about my eye glass prescription, instead of answering me verbally they just looked and me, put up their hand, and pointed to the counter. I left this providers office very annoyed and went to Dr. Tappan's because I was having an issue with my left contact lens and Dr. Tappan was AMAZING!!! He provided me with a replacement set and a new cleaning kit. He also listened to me vent about my experience at the other office. As a result, he is now offering the discount you see above, Dr. Tappan is not just an amazing Optometrist, he is an all-around amazing person and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a comprehensive and comfortable exam.

Did an amazing job with my 8 year old! Highly recommend! UPDATE: Since the last visit, I really wanted to update my visit today. To recap, about a year after my sons eye surgeries, his surgeon prescribed him a pair of glasses and later into the year he was complaining that he could not see so I took him to Dr. Tappen who was able to correct his prescription and he hasnt had a problem since. So today, I had to call into work because I lost my last contact and was unable to see to drive to work so I went to the mall. I spent three hours waiting for a Doctor Who spent about five minutes on me and did not give me a proper eye exam and wrote a prescription that was three times stronger than the prescription I was currently using which was insane. I left there feeling very uneasy, very confused and my gut told me I needed a second opinion and Dr. Tappan was my only thought. He took the time to see me right away and give me a thorough exam with the correct prescription. This guy is amazing and you will not find another doctor, who really cares for his patients the way he does! I thank God for that gut feeling to send me to him. He really went above and beyond and he gives the best hugs!! Thank you Dr. Tappan! I guarantee I will not go to any other eye doctor!!
