I dont really have the ability to spend money on takeout often. Possibly once every few months or not at all so Im pretty disappointed that I just spent a significant amount of my limited money on two pizzas that I have no interest in warming up and eating again. I know most people love this place, but for those of you that are financially restricted, and cant justify wasting money. Just wanna share some of my experience. I wanna begin by saying that the girl upfront at the register was very sweet kind and beyond patient with all my questions and trying to figure out what I wanted. Im looking for a New York style pizza as I dont really prefer all that extra dough but dont want something as thin as a thin crust. When I kindly asked what would be the closest option to getting that New York style, the gentleman in the back who seems to possibly be the manager, said he had no idea what I was talking about as if I had invented a new style. I couldve ordered online, but decided to come in instead so that I could see the difference between the thin crust and the regular hand tossed. There was nothing out on display and no way for me to see before I place my order. On the menu, the thin crust is described as crispy, and even after reheating it in my oven more than once, it didnt even hold up on its own. I had to fold it into multiple pieces just to avoid using utensils. Both were rubbery and a mess. Neither the crispy thin crust, nor the hand toss crust was able to be eaten by hand as you would expect. As both of the pizzas also came with one topping I even asked about how some of them came so that I would pick what I wanted that wasnt already available in the fridge at home. The basil was described as big leaf and instead it was almost nonexistent speckles of crispy shreds nor did it cover the whole slice. This cost me over $26 even though they were on special and I cant possibly reheat it. It was not worth this price tag. Again, I know plenty of people love this chain and for the most part, it was inviting and I will repeat that the woman upfront was friendly too, and had a smile but if youre looking for New York style pizza without a hole in your pocket, this is not the place.. it just didnt feel like a fresh handcrafted pizza, but more like the frozen variety.
