Sean, Cane, and Rico worked conscientiously and diligently for several hours to determine the reason we had no hot water at any faucet even though the water heater was working. The issue was diagnosed, carefully explained, and resolved.

Juan was very professional and gave me options to fix a problem that another plumber couldn't figure out. My pump system was installed wrong. He found multiple solutions. I choose reliant plumbing from now on.

As another recent reviewer who gave a 1-star review, due your due diligence on getting at least 1 other price for plumbing. I could hear water leaking/hissing outside of my kitchen window, where the main comes into the house. Reliant was the 1st company to answer the phone after a few voice mails from other local plumbers. Day 1 the technician comes out early afternoon and verifies there is a leak which matches the amount leaking as per the water companys smart meter. He cant start to find the leak because the company only owns 2 leak detectors and he would need to go back to Austin to find one and return the next day. He did quote me approx $1500 for 2 hours of leak detection which was agreed upon. (Day 2) Two technicians showed up mid-morning to start the leak detection. It was detected where we thought it was. They expose the main pipe, installed a value, and verified the leak was after the valve. They dont break concrete so a reroute was our only option. They couldnt complete the reroute that afternoon because they had other calls scheduled so I was almost left high and dry! The technician did have time to provide pricing of $4500 for the reroute after my water was turned off. I requested the technician to somehow leave me with water for the night. They tempd a line through a kitchen window. He was even nice enough to provide pricing to replace all the pvc to the water main (40) for an additional $6k! Which price would you choose? Day 3 a technician showed up mid-morning and took about 1 hour to complete the reroute which involved shallow trenching 7 feet, coring a small hole in my brick wall, and running the line 6 ft through the bottom of 3 cabinets. Approximately $4500 for the reroute which took about 1 hour. Approximately 5 hours onsite total and a total bill of over $6k! Later after I questioned the pricing, they have the technician call:3 to discuss the pricing. Of course he would think the pricing is fair! Not many trades would get work if they advertise $1000/hr!

PLEASE learn from my mistake!!! PLEASE research other companies and get other bids, no matter how dire your situation may be. Essentially we were over charged by, on average, 400% compared to 3 other companies. Context: We had an issue with a water heater valve so we had to have the water for the house shut off for some time. Reliant came out and informed us that the shut off valve for the water heater would have to be replaced. It was presented as the only possible solution and they charged $1085 for the service. Out of desperation to get water back to the house for the family immediately, we ended up going forward with it. After the service was completed, I sought bids from 3 other plumbing companies for a new water heater installation and casually inquired about the cost of replacing the water shutoff valve, without disclosing the amount I had paid. Each of these companies provided estimates ranging from $200 to $350 for the same job. When I later revealed the amount we were charged by Reliant, they were genuinely surprised and expressed sympathy for the situation. Additionally, I also visited a supply store and found that the total cost of materials required for the job did not exceed $40. This stark contrast between the cost of materials and the total amount charged for labor raises concerns about the fairness and transparency of the pricing. I immediately called Reliant to inquire further about the pricing, and received a call from the same technician who did the repair the following business day. However, the technician informed me he would need to request one of his managers to call the business day after that. After no follow up, I called Reliant every few days to follow up on the matter, and only received a call from a manager exactly 2 weeks after my initial inquiry. I was told that this price is set beforehand and that nothing could or would be done based on the extreme difference between their price and every other quote I received. However, I will note that I was told by a front office staff that technicians are given a range from which they can charge. Given that the tech completed the replacement in less than an hour, it is hard to come to terms that we were charged over $1000 for this (knowing the cost of materials as mentioned before). With all this being said, I would add that I did regrettably sign up for their membership during the visit, but especially after seeing the difficulty of getting a call back and issues on their pricing model, I wish I hadnt. The general feeling I get from this entire experience is that we were taken advantage of, especially given the dire situation we were in and the lack of fair pricing and transparency. Again, please learn from this and make sure to get other bids for comparison, no matter the situation you may be in.
