Cristina ( Dr. Jesurun ) taught me so much about how my shoulder works and how to adjust my body, in order to undo the makeshift ways my muscles had with time over-adapted. She constantly reflected back bad habits and good ones, so that I could internalize better healing movements. Hers is a more considered approach. Cristina teaches you the deep anatomic particulars and dependencies. It's a different one-on-one vibe from more standard physical therapy places, which can feel more assembly line and repetetive, a series of exercises you march through. Cristina is an excellent personal coach and health teacher.

Vanessa Muncrief is an excellent physical therapist. I'm a former dancer who has done a lot of PT in the past, and I've never worked with someone as knowledgeable, and as empowering, as Dr. Muncrief. She pinpointed my lower lumbar issue (an out of whack sacrum) and helped me adapt exercise patterns to stay safely active. With a holistic combination of manual therapy, alignment work, and Pilates, I now feel equipped to heal and strengthen my body to prevent future injury and pain. Visiting VMPT is the best thing I've done for myself in ages. I can't recommend it enough. As an added bonus, the office is beautiful and calming, and with its own parking!

I climbed Enchanted Rock yesterday, and it's all Christina's fault. Dr. Jesurun helped me with my snapping hip and associated hip fatigue by teaching me how to use my muscles as they were designed to support my silly shenanigans, and not try to use the same three muscles to do everything (it's no wonder they were tired). My goals with PT was to climb well-behaved mountains (like for example Enchanted Rock, which I know is not technically a mountain, but it sure a well behaved rock that you can climb without special equipment) and I'd been having a hard time trying to find the words to explain how she helped me until I was halfway up the rock and realized it was going pretty well, and it's Christina's fault. If you're looking for someone to blame for your quality of life improving, check her out. You will have to exercise some to make it work.
