Went here with my girlfriend for a celebratory dinner. Jenny our server was so helpful and brought us a treat for our celebration. Overall, the staff (host, wait staff, and bus staff) were one of the highlights of the experience. Ambiance was so-so. While I liked the lighting and was fine with the tight quarters, they need some more sound deadening. For the prices they are charging, I want to be able to converse at my table without shouting and leaning over all the time. The food was good, but not great. Best dishes we had were the arugala salad and the grilled broccoli. While those were excellent, it's not a great sign for an Italian restaurant with this price point. We shared the Lumache alla vodka, which while interesting, was a bit cold, chili forward, but not overly complex. We also shared the Malfadine Funghi y Tartufo. While it was good and very rich, it was an overly heavy cream sauce. A little lighter on the sauce preparation would have helped the mushrooms shine. Portion size was so-so. The dishes weren't good enough on their own to warrant such small portions, but I appreciate a place that doesn't try to drown you in food either. Drinks (martini and Manhattan) were great and the cheesecake and tiramisu we excellent, just be prepared for larger dessert portions than dinner portions. Vegetarian options: It's an Italian restaurant, you can find some veggies and pasta that work, but they don't cater to vegetarians.

Service was so horrible I left before even ordering! rather go to the Italian food truck down the road, (rehoboth Italian cuisine) dont say I never pyo :)

The food is delicious, great wine options, great service and prices, but the MUSIC. It gives grandmas house vibes but early 2000s hip hop and rap are on max volume. I brought my family here and we had to get the rest to-go because I couldnt hear them over get low at 9 pm. The chance to have immaculate vibes and it was just passed right over. If jazz or classical or something was playing at a lower volume, we probably wouldve gotten another bottle of wine and dessert. Missed opportunity for sure! But food is delicious!

Ive been here twice, and the first time was fantastic. The second time (last night) was made unpleasant by a pretty rude waitress. Our reservation was at 8:45, late, but was all we could get. We were looking forward to a nice, unrushed dinner. Instead, after we declined to buy a bottle of wine, the waitress behaved as if we were the most unimportant table in the room. At first it was a soft suspicion, but then she 1) forgot to enter in our spinach order 2) never checked on us after the food came to realize that was the case (we told her after we were finished) and 3) came by minutes later to drop the check, telling us no rush and then 5 minutes later took it for payment and when she realized she took it too early and no card was in the book, brought it back sheepishly. Just terrible service for what should be a top notch place. I understand its hard out there for service workers, but if you dont like your job its best to not work it at all. I dont think we will come back to Sammies for table service - the price isnt worth it. Maybe we try the bar next time where service expectations are lower.
