The good thing about Bankers life Long Term Care is that they do pay out eventually. The bad thing is that your loved one who paid into their expensive policy for decades may suffer greatly while waiting and the person managing their care must be tenacious. Banker's life promises a 6 week turn around on paying out a claim. Ours took 5 months. They don't pay for the first 100 days of care but don't wait to begin the claim process. They tell you that once your claim is approved they simply pay every month once they receive the necessary documents. This is not true. You can expect to hassle with them every month. They will tell you the check is coming in 2 weeks, so you wait patiently for 2 weeks and instead you receive a letter stating that they can't pay for some reason and you have to spend hours on the phone working it out. They will tell you that if you move facilities your service won't be interrupted but it will. They refused to provide copies of the necessary documents to the new facility telling me to have them get the forms from the website. Then waited 2 weeks to communicate that they required 1 more form, then 2 more weeks and 1 more form. They won't tell you what they need from you or the facility if you move. They will tell you they are going to pay but every 2 weeks they say they need one more document before they can pay. I'm currently 3 months without a reimbursement. I've spent hours every week on the phone with them. Only last week did they inform me that we must go through an entire re approval process and they won't pay for another 6 weeks now that they have all the documents. This company has been sued multiple times for this sort of thing. If you are planning for your future and you buy a policy with this company make sure that you also plan to keep informed on the cost of care and keep enough to cover a minimum of 6 months care in the bank. Make sure your advocate is willing to fight for you and sacrifice hours of their life to get this company to honor their contract.

After several years; enjoying my retirement under the Lone Star flag, I discovered to my dismay that my Medicare Advantage plan didn't offer dental benefits. Fortunately, Brigett Colmenero with Bankers Life took the initiative. After a brief phone conversation; we scheduled a mutually convenient appointment. When Brigett arrived as scheduled, I was ready for the usual Medicare Supplement sales pitch. She dutifully described several options. One possibility she presented could be available without waiting for the usual enrollment period. The second option was part of a complete Medicare Advantage plan, which offers a dental coverage benefit. That option would be available during next year's enrollment period. But Brigett was far from done. She followed by delivering a full financial consultation. She asked important questions designed to make me think about my long-term financial health. Her reactions were non-judgemental and honestly caring. I almost felt like I was with a wise and caring consulting physician. There's no doubt in my mind that Brigett can help me find a long-term plan to my health -- both physical and financial. I heartily recommend contacting Brigett (brigett.colmenero@banker…) for your Medicare and retirement planning needs. She is an insurance advisor, fully licensed for life and health in the state of Texas. Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistakes; get in touch with Brigett BEFORE you need her help.

My neighbor gets his Medicare supplement policies through Bankers. He connected me to Emmi Harris to talk about my options.Emmi bent over backwards to get me the information I needed. I purchased a policy with them for health care at assisted living/home health care, extremely reasonable rates.   She put together quotes for life insurance, again great rates. I would recommend contacting Emmi
