East Austin Hotel

1 means I dont recommend this place at all. I dont give many 1s. When I booked this place I didnt realize the rooms dont have bathrooms, there are communal bathrooms down the hall. The open lot bar/venue and food trucks across the street are blaring bad music until 2am. And then the walls and doors are paper thin, so after 2am you can hear every single person on your floor going to and from the bathroom. Every bathroom door slam echos up and down the hall. Then the thermostat makes continuous clicking sounds and the minifridge makes continuous gurgling sounds. I'm a very heavy sleeper, but I think I got woken up about hourly throughout the night. When you consider they charge $35/day for parking separately from the room, you can definitely get quiet hotel rooms with bathrooms for $235/night elsewhere.

Loved this hotel. The staff were wonderful, it was quaintly decorated and had charm. Using the cabin rooms worked for me as a solo traveller with shared bathrooms. Pleasantly surprised the shared bathrooms had individual rooms with a toilet, shower and sink.

Sorry guys- hate giving a bad review.. granted my stay was during Sxsw, but it was $400 a night for a tiny room with a shared bathroom. Room was fine, but the bathrooms simply were not cleaned frequently and well enough. I would often find that like all of them had nastiness in the toilets - smelled awful. They really can't pull this shared bathroom thing off, even though they are trying.
