image The best company for puppy day care or boarding! My dog always cries when we leave because he wants to go play again! The staff are all super sweet and passionate and everyone takes safety very seriously. Your dog *must* pass an interview process to be considered and staff always notify you if they notice anything off (like a weird bump or any joint soreness). Daily pictures are posted of every dog so you can check in on your babies. Bottom line, take your dog here. I've added a photo taken by the team to show just how happy my little old guy is when he stays!

Thank you so much Amber! I just read this to our whole team! We are so appreciative of your kind words and acknowledgment of the care and compassion this team has!! We love Rex so very much!

image Our dog could not board here due to the inability of the staff to give him a couple of pills for a well-managed condition. Something that is so simple that even providers on Rover with absolutely no medical knowledge can do.
Lesson learned - if your dog is not perfect, then do not waste your time filling out information for this facility.

image We were considering sending our very mild mannered dog for boarding at this facility. He has white dog shaker syndrome which had been managed by long term steroids and he exhibits no issues for six years. They declined him due to them feeling like this area is not their area of expertise. He has no symptoms as long as he gets his steroid medication. Even after educating the staff about this, they were unwilling to listen or accommodate. The team member even used language like seizure when this was not at all said and they took it to the extreme. He has never had a seizure and when using the medical term for white shaker syndrome, they jumped to conclusions without listening.
The staff member talked over us and did not reasonably listen to us in our description of our dog or his needs. As far as socializing, he is apathetic towards dogs but not unfriendly. He basically sniffs around and moves on. They had explained earlier that a test day would be used to evaluate this anyways, but we never got to this. Basically they jumped to all the wrong conclusions and made assumptions without talking with the owners properly. We do not recommend wasting your time in filling out the details for this facility. We will look for a better and more capable caretaker as these people are not able to handle even the smallest of issues. They will miss out on our business.
Edit- as you can see from the response, the owner is definitely not into listening.
We are thankful we never used them as we would have been away for over ten days with our pup in the care of these people. If something does happen with your pup while you are away, it seems like they would not be capable of handling it. We definitely don't need a "medical" boarding facility as this is just managed with steroids - literally a couple pills that even Rover caretakers were able to handle easily.
Also, in their disclosures it states their staff will leave the dogs overnight around 7-7:30 pm and return the next morning around 6:45 Monday-Friday and 7:45 am on Sat/Sun. No staff member is physically there until they return the next day. A gap of nearly 12 hours! They also mentioned in their disclosures that they do not have a fire sprinkler system installed, which is part of the agreement we had to sign. If they truly care or advocate for dogs, they will learn how to properly care for them and install safety systems and have staff in place later so that the overnight stay is less lengthy.

Hi Shiny,Thanks for your review! I knew we would receive a one star review from you the moment we got off the phone. As I explained, we know our areas of expertise here at Pups & Pals. And dogs with medical diagnoses that we are not familiar with is not in our wheelhouse. We are proud to be a business that knows what we do well, and knows what we are not well versed in. We would never want to take care of a pup who has a medical condition that we are not familiar with and do not understand. I appreciate you taking the time to explain his condition in detail to me. He sounds like a wonderful pup. I am proud to be a business owner who knows my limits, and who does not commit to taking care of pups with medical conditions that I don't understand or feel comfortable with, as I would absolutely NEVER want to put a dog in danger with an inability to properly care for them. I was trying to explain that to you when you repeatedly interrupted and talked over me. I wish that conversation had not gone that way so that I could have had the chance to recommend a couple of amazing facilities that we work with and refer to often. One that is a dog boarding facility owned and operated by a licensed veterinarian who trains her staff with a medical approach. That boarding facility would be the PERFECT place for your pup. I am proud to be a business owner who is not only thinking about the amount of money I can make and how many pups I can board a week, and rather, if my business and the staff I have working here has the knowledge and expertise to care for dogs with unique conditions. I am proud that I advocated for your dog to recieve more detailed care by trained professionals with proper medical knowledge, rather than just taking the risk of boarding your pup and taking your hard earned money when we are not confident here in our veterinary knowledge, as none of us have studied veterinarian medicine. We will always advocate for what is best for the dog's health and well being, and we have no shame in knowing when we are not the right facility for every pup.

image Our dog Frank has been going to Pups & Pals for about a year and he has been very happy about his playdates.
Also, every time we boarded him for a long time he was very well taken care of and happy on the day of his pick up. We have observed that he is enjoying his time and we trust everyone at Pups & Pals, seeing that people that work here care about the animals and they don't treat them like a transaction.
Every single person that usually works at the front desk is very friendly, accommodating our requests, and welcoming with a genuine smile.
Also everyone that is responsible for communication is very prompt and responsive.
We are very happy to have found Pups & Pals and our dog Frank is too.
Nothing can be better to know that your loved family member will be well taken care of when you travel and cannot bring him along.
